“No one is safe”.
There was no caveat to that statement that said unless you move.
Moving guarantees nothing

This company really is one of the worst companies to work for. It did not use to be that way. It is led by egomaniacs who are some of the worst leaders of our era. It is shocking to me that anyone with a 1/4 brain would consider moving their family to another location, just to keep a job that they have already proven they can do where they are at. Who in the h3ll does that? Better yet, what kind of complete A$$wh0le leader makes that demand of their employees.
Please lay me the h_ll off and pay me my severance so I can find a job at a company where they mean it when they say "YOU MATTER"
You might have to crawl over the wall to get your job back.
I am shocked that apparently there are people that legitimately thought moving would somehow give them Job security?
I don’t know specifics about the recent Dallas layoffs, just honestly shocked some of you believed you might somehow be protected.
You are nuts if you move on your own dime for a job here, and honestly deserve what you get.Wake the f up.
“Moving does not guarantee you a job.”
Exactly and this is why no one should be moving.
Go to AT&T Corp site and listen to the latest earnings call where it is clearly mentioned layoffs are part of the cost savings. This will not stop until all operations are done by contractors.
I'm retirement eligible and for this reason I am holding out until I get my severance pay! I know it's coming, so in the meantime I'm earning a very easy paycheck every 2 weeks. It's more money in the bank and better retirement when the time does come!
Moving does not guarantee you a job.
I was affected but I am not leaving.
Yes, there were four that moved to Dallas that were later identified as "RINGERS", they all received pink slips.

Yep, I know someone who moved to Dallas and was later laid off. When presented with option to move to Dallas, the answer HR wants to hear is "I decline" as they are betting 99% will say no to relocation so any backfill which is not likely will be external hire only with most of work moving to Mexico City. We don't need a wall as the jobs are all going to Mexico. So outsourcing more work while downplaying the security breach. All customer private data now accessible by contractors in the hands of 3rd party vendors out of Mexico, India, Phillippines, etc.
I heard when RTO mandates started that there was never any guarantee of keeping your job even if you moved to a hub location without relocation assistance. I would not be surprised if this happened after someone moved to Dallas.
what a cesspool company. have people move then lay them off.
how fricken low can you go.
with cesspool att there no bounds.
I did. I rented short term, afraid this would happen. if I bought a house I'd have to claim bankruptcy
“Who is Ward?”
VP Tech.
Who is Ward?
Not surprised, honestly.
They will say ‘fake news’ but how do those who say it isn’t true know?
Ward told us directly if you move there’s no guarantee you keep your job and won’t be laid off anyways. Told me to my face.
Don’t move for T.
Walmart just announced they’re requiring relocation to their NON-CITY new campus and guess what? They’re paying people to relocate, go figure.
Get out of this garbage trash worthless awful company ASAP.
Fake news.
