Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo social media team has removed the post encouraging you to share your department/location when they lay you off.

If they had it their way, there would be zero discussion regarding the layoffs. While perfectly within their right to lay us all off, they want it done quietly. It is all about optics. All the more reason to provide your department/location when it happens. If enough people were to do so, it raises the exposure of their actions. Again, all within their right to do...but they should at least face the consequences of eliminating thousands of American jobs in order to boost shareholder value.

  • Having the post removed is to the benefit of Wells Fargo.
  • The person who notified the admins it was in violation of their rules works for Wells Fargo.

So while that isn't some formal department monitoring this site, it is accomplishing the exact same thing.

The site rules are clear about this. That post was encouraging a violation of site rules so it got taken down.

Not everything is some big Wells Fargo conspiracy

The IQ of many respondents who think Wells “works” with this or any public information site is so low I wonder how their bodies remember to breathe.

Idijits, it’s very simple. The only rules at play are those of THIS board. Make a post violating them and ANYONE can notify the admins and have it removed.

Then the idjits constantly restating to post finite details because there can’t be any repercussions, that is true but that doesn’t mean the information will stay here as those finite details violate THIS sites rules.

FFS no wonder you’re all getting laid off.

I swear, I'm gonna have to make a new post and spell it out for people.

I can go on Teamworks right now, pull a name off the directory and do the following:

  1. Make a post claiming to be that person
  2. Include that person's full name, their manager's name, the department they work in, and their location
  3. Say all sorts of awful things as that person

Do you REALLY think WF is then going to fire that person??? Do you realize what you are saying? I could target whoever I feel like...perhaps a manager I don't like and impersonate them here. And by YOUR own logic, they get a sure fire way of a 'pink ticket'. This is what you are literally saying.

So, if you would like to revise your statement...you would then hopefully realize that even just putting your department and location (not even your name) has zero consequences...because, and I hope you are following me here, there is nothing to stop anyone from impersonating a random name from the directory. Wells Fargo is not going to fire that person, holy cr-p.

If you still think so, I'll be happy to start randomly posting names from the directory here and magically get all those people fired.

Wells Fargo is not your friend and they don't care about you - do your job. Take a check. But never trust

It’s not a WF thing. You don’t think next your employer won’t cut you in a second?! I worked for this beloved CEO at another company and he would NEVER lay someone off (eye roll) - fast forward to today and their mortgage department now only has two people in it. It was quite large in 2019-2020. Take care of yourself.

The loyalty nonsense is dead. It will get you nowhere. It helped your parents and it won’t help you. Take care of yourself.

Exactly. The whole thing saying post your name, your manager's name, your location, lob, etc..is surely a sure fire way for one to get a "pink ticket". It's as if someone is baiting us to fall into their trap. Most of us who work here are not that naive.

The thread asked people to also post managers names. That is not allowed on this forum.

Lmao. Sorry, there's lots of things wrong with this. We don't even give customers our last names unless the ask for it. Why would we put our full name on a public forum? Also, that would put anyone who did that on the radar for the C-suite to Fire. Unemployment doesn't pay anything close to severance packages from WFB. Nice try peeps.

This is contradictory. The whole point of the post was how this forum is fully anonymous and safe. If WF has the ability to delete posts on a whim, what other rights do they have? Which is it?

Sharing detailed information may be against the WF policy. Someone disputed the legality of WF policy with the NLRB, which is questionable.

Of course they do, how is that being naive? lol

It is naive to think that is the only reason they have posts removed.

There was nothing confidential. They have command centers with any mention of the company popping up so they can do damage control. Giant monitors that track everything from instagram to X and between. It really calls their attention each time someone “hashtags” us. How about stopping that? It’s silly.

Don't be naive. Wells Fargo works with this Layoff board to monitor any sensitive posts. They will remove anything that is legally questionable or anything that could compromise the company's confidential information.
