Workplace Ambassadors?

What is the reason for having two individuals sitting in the 550 building lobby every morning doing nothing? And who is paying for this? Do we really need workplace ambassadors? I have yet to see them talk to anyone. In the meantime, staffs are getting cut and those remaining have to pick up the slack.

I can shine some light here. The Workplace Ambassadors (purple shirts) are meant to be employee advocates. They are typically available to help out during and after moves, to answer any questions employees have about their locations. Or guide them to find the answers. They provide people with directions (especially at CIC), help place work order tickets, help place tech tickets. They try and funnel feedback to the proper channels. The idea is they are there to help. They are separate from Lobby Ambassadors and Connections team. They were at 550 for a limited time. But typically they would be roaming 3wells or CIC.

Well, I guess we were trying to be "efficient". Why can't coordinators' duties be combined with ambassadors' duties? The C-A will reserve conference rooms and physically set up for meetings and large events and then they are greeters and assist security with the check-in process when the meeting/event occurs.

I would like to correct the person whom stated that there at 2 ambassadors at 42nd St.

  1. There are no ambassadors at 42nd St, they are at HY. The ambassadors are in the lobby with security.
  2. The people you see at 42nd St are coordinators, they help reserver conference rooms and physically set up for meetings and large events at both NY sites. They have helped my team coordinate many meetings and events for our leaders.
  3. Only coordinators are trained to help with AV/equipment set up.

Ambassadors are mainly greeters, assist security with the check-in process, and help with way finding.

The coordinators' work is completely different from the ambassadors.

They've had these for awhile. They have two in STL. They also have two at 42nd St. I would assume they have them at all the major admin buildings. It's really for the "Connections Space" and to help them with equipment issues, finding where to go, etc. they are contractors.

Same reason the bank is making up new senior and executive level positions to hire their friends from JPM. With each new layer of management, they know significantly less and less what the front-line does but their golf game is on point.
