Wells Fargo is a total snake pit. If you want to protect yourself from lay offs and office politics, read a piece titled The Hatchet Man's Playbook. It's all about the dirty tricks management and unscrupulous co-workers pull to get ahead and how to defeat them - a lot of eye-popping non-obvious stuff!

WFH is a bigger "perk" for the employer then the employee. Massive reduction in cost, increased resiliency, hardly any HR issues, no workplace safety issues, much less liability, superior candidate pools and more. There have been some studies suggesting people are less productive, and others that tell us people are more productive at home, but the benefits more than outweigh negative outcomes which are questionable at best.
Cliff notes please. You know wf peeps don’t liken reading much
And that's on top of blabbing about the weather, sports, politics, and other useless cr-p. Then getting distracted by loud talker guy that you can hear perfectly clearly even though he's 12 cubes away. It's all nonsense. Nothing useful happens in an admin building. When I go in I just put on noise cancelling headphones and camp in a huddle room or WTH the hacks in CPG call these fake offices these days. I've been doing this stupidity for over 2 years now and other than spending less time every day working, neither I nor the company has gained any value.

@oke Study after study has proven people are remarkable at knowing how to look busy in the office while doing nothing. FRTO & your opinion.

Location Strategy
This is well beyond just removing remote employees, many "core location" jobs are going offshore and they are closing buildings all over the entire US. No one is safe. This is a triple whammy.
Maybe this is just a correction to all those overpaid people not doing much at home.
Honestly, Wells Fargo has always paid a LOT of its office workers far more than the value they added. It seems to happen at a lot of banks, much more so than in other industries. I would see how little my x wife did when working from home and she made over $160K. Maybe this is just a correction man. I think the snake behavior happens when overpaid people with little do fight to hang on to winning the job lottery.
