Suggestion -- make finding another job while still employed your #1 priority. Spend 1/2 of your working time doing only that; your livelihood depends on it.

Take. Control. Of. Your. Life.

Cisco is more of a dr-g than a career. Get out and get healthy.

My money is on an announcement after the summer shutdown. They want to burn down PTO to reduce the payout liability.

Cisco should have fully captured the remote presence market.

The stuff never worked right in house when I worked there. Their forays into low margin hardware from Linksys to the overheating cameras strongly suggests they aren't culturally able to do lower margin services rather than high end hardware (IIRC the original three seat Telepresence rooms were six digits including the build out.) The fact that Cisco was able to sell telephones for $1,000 a pop back in the day was pretty impressive though.

I have yet to hear anybody make a logical business case for Cisco buying Stunk instead of other business ventures.

Cisco should be at the forefront of AI. Cisco should have fully captured the remote presence market. Cisco should have been the first and biggest player in cloud.

Instead, well....

Any one that uses the term Cisco “stocks” is a stupid-a-s foreigner.

A massive layoff is coming no doubt. Before spending 28 billions to acquire Splunk, Cisco was already on a lay off trend every year. Now 28 billions gone, what do you think is going to happen? Splunk may or may not bring long term growth which could take years to find out but Cisco needs to balance the book in short term to recoup some of that money that used to buy Splunk. Pack your bags and get ready, its going to be a tough road ahead.

Almost anyone who is capable of reading is aware of at least one LR since the earnings call. If you don’t know of any then just ask JS, the recent ex-sales boss.

Stealth LRs have started. One person in my team got the call. But no announcement since apparently it’s the “same LR as last LR” .

The worse thing can be is Splunk acquire, it will speed up the down fall of Cisco. But Cisco is essential to us; many hold its stocks. As a LR'er at Feb I am here to Cisco's longevity !

"Are you surprised people just made stuff up on this board?"

No I am not surprised. We are dealing with a ruthless company with one of the most incompetent ELT. A company that is an expert in layoffs and only knows one way to solve its problem, that is layoffs. A company that trains you in nothing but politics, nurtures toxic work environment, backstabbing, favoritism, useless HR, and many more. No I am not surprised that people are nervous before every earnings report and expect more layoffs.

Expect it in Q1
NX org is coming
Lots of double up roles between specialists and Cisco AMs
I would expect management to maybe be restructured too

Layoffs weren't mentioned in the documentation yesterday; neither was any update on the restructuring charge. But I do notice that they have about $280M left out of the $800m that they set aside in the last quarter (as I read it).
So, I expect we'll hear soon that people are effected...

In the turbulent waters of today's job market, layoffs have become an unfortunate reality for many companies and their employees. The fear of losing one's job can create an atmosphere of tension and unease, leading to what feels like an all-out war among colleagues. However, amidst the chaos, there lies an opportunity to surround ourselves with positivity and support, even in the face of adversity.

Picture this: you're sitting at your desk, surrounded by colleagues who are also grappling with the looming threat of layoffs. It's easy to get caught up in the negative chatter, the gossip, and the fear that permeate the office. But amidst the chaos, there are those who choose to focus on the positive, who bring a sense of optimism and resilience to the table.

These are the colleagues who, instead of dwelling on what might happen, choose to focus on the present moment and the tasks at hand. They approach each day with a can-do attitude, tackling challenges head-on and offering support to those around them. Their positivity is contagious, lifting the spirits of their coworkers and fostering a sense of unity in the face of uncertainty.

Surrounding yourself with these positive influences can make all the difference when navigating layoffs. Rather than getting drawn into the negativity and drama, seek out those who radiate positivity and optimism. Spend time with coworkers who uplift and inspire you, who remind you that you're capable of weathering any storm that comes your way.

Of course, it's natural to feel anxious and worried about the future during times of uncertainty. But dwelling on negative thoughts and engaging in office gossip will only drain your energy and make the situation feel even more overwhelming. Instead, channel your energy into productive activities that bring you joy and fulfillment.

Take breaks throughout the day to recharge and refocus. Engage in activities outside of work that bring you happiness, whether it's spending time with loved ones, pursuing a hobby, or practicing self-care. By nurturing your own well-being, you'll be better equipped to handle whatever challenges come your way.

Remember, layoffs are a reflection of larger economic forces at play, and they're not a reflection of your worth as an individual. By surrounding yourself with positivity and focusing on the present moment, you can navigate these uncertain times with grace and resilience. Together, we can weather the storm and emerge stronger on the other side.
