Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco and Chuck failure after failure , sold out Board

Chuck needs to get fired, this board has a bunch of non product people who are failing investors and making foolish decisions

Chuck’s resume as CEO:

Missed cloud
SBG no growth - too late to make dent now
Apps and FSO failure
No aaS transformation
No major ARR transformation success
Missed AI and losing to competitors
Webex miss during COVID
Losing market share across the board
Failed acquisition integrations

Boards are hand picked and there to support the CEO for their freebie paycheck. Then the CEO is picked to be on their board and everyone in the C Suites wins. This is incestuous isn't just Cisco type behavior. It needs to change ... but won't.

Chuckie got to meet the Pope (with Mrs. Chuck), hang out at the Whitehouse, Parliament, Gov Newsome's, pretend to care about the homeless in San Francisco (with a Non-profit CEO that makes over $400k a year), numerous photo op's, sports events, and now a member of Augusta. I would say he got what he wanted out of the deal, all while his stock price has decreased and competitors have watched Cisco from their rear view mirror. He doesn't care about shareholder value, only about the optics for himself, his wife, and how many times he can be on CNBC lying about how Cisco is a market leader. What has Cisco invented in your tenure Chuck? What will you hang your hat on 20 years from now as an accomplishment you helped lead? Anything other than writing checks to buy companies that you led and watched them all fail.

Don't forget the absolute disaster of bringing in the SFDC posse.

That being said, he is now a member at Augusta and at Cypress Point. So from his perspective, he would say it has been a successful tenure.

Hopefully the next CEO has some product/technical knowledge and can work to right the ship.

I would say worse, we are losing AI.. but pretending we are the leader.
Missing a technology shift can hurt but is acceptable. It can happen. (once)
Being delusional by stating we are rocking AI.. deserves all 9 circles of he-l.
There should be accountability, but in reality there is none....
