Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Naughty naughty

Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) fired more than a dozen employees from its wealth and investment management division in May after the bank investigated claims that they were faking work, according to a media report.

The employees were "discharged after review of allegations involving simulation of keyboard activity creating the impression of active work," the company disclosed in a filing with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, according to reporting by Bloomberg News.

I guarantee these id--ts plugged the juggler right into their computer and it could be seen an external device was connected.

If a company bases workload on sneakily tracking keyboard and mouse use, instead of what is actually produced, they aren't managing their workforce properly.

Fake working? Is that just another fancy term for what TK does?

I can’t even get my workload done in 50-60 hours. Having enough free time that I have to somehow trick people into thinking I’m online is unimaginable.

I mean, what do you expect from a bank that is not good at motivating their employees? I don't blame the employees for quiet-quitting.

It’s called “coffee cupping” by conduct management, actually is a enterprise-wide issue

Indians don't speak normal English. "Do the needful" is a common phrase in "Indian English". https://www.grammarly.com/blog/do-the-needful/
Americans and Europeans never talk like that.

This thread is officially started by WFIS, which is far more superior than the other one started by on-shore resource. Now please go and kindly do the needful (pound sand)!!

From what I've read the team members in question were formally warned and then continued to use mouse jigglers.

I don’t really understand why any exempt employee would even bother mouse jiggling. If you’re on salary, does it really matter as long as the quantity, quality, and timeliness of completed work is sufficient for your role? I suppose if you were being given so little to do that you could get it all done while still wasting half the day, and wanted to conceal that, it might make sense. But I wouldn’t think WIM people would have the problem of too little to do.

I wonder if these people got caught because they weren’t performing, and then catching them mouse jiggling was a way to skip the whole PIP firing process.

LOL! What do you think they do in India? I've called and it's like they are having a party.

I'm guessing they don't track our colleagues in India.

Actually, that's been going on maybe back to 2010

I think these 12 apostles are brave and deserve only the best. If their department is being run like mine is, mouse jiggling is a great solution to an otherwise bleak existence here.

yeah just so you know anyone who works as a trader or anything to do with WIM, everything you do is tracked. Screen shots are taken of your computer on a regular basis, the windows you have opened, the IM conversations, the websites you visit, the open shares that your exchange excel sheets on, what you saved, (you get the idea) this has been going on since 2020, (I don't know when the full roll out happened). All this data is stored on a cloud instance (unencrypted). I know all this because I tested the application and told them this was a bad idea. They did it anyway.

@mac+1t0KjMX

That sounds like the worst idea ever. Tell you what, well pilot it by using it only on the executives, and fire any of them that "the system" says don't meet muster, then we'll consider expanding it.

Well well Big Brother is watching you for real. What they need to do is create a "meeting analyzer" (MA) to monitor the managers. All meetings are recorded and fed through this MA. The MA will analyze the objectives; how many tasks assigned, resources allocated.
The MA could potentially analyze for these objectives as well:

Employee Engagement: Look for positive/negative sentiment in speech patterns, and discussion of challenges or roadblocks.
Goal Alignment: Analyze if discussions align with previously set goals or identify areas where goals need clarification.
Communication Style: Identify dominance by one person, interruptions, or opportunities to improve communication flow.
Action Item Clarity: Analyze if tasks are clearly defined with deadlines and ownership assigned.
Professional Development: Did the manager offer coaching or growth opportunities? Did the direct express interest in learning or development?

The MA could be used to grade the managers -- their meeting effectiveness and communication style. It could be refined to detect the "toxic" managers of Wells Fargo. It is time for Big Brother to monitor the managers.
