Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford's pursuit of the EV fallacy is like Red Lobster's pursuit of endless shrimp as a path to profitability.

Corporate amnesia and fiduciary malpractice are at full sail. The American consumer has an absolute obsession with a cost-effective purchase decision. Just like they will starve themselves to exploit the endless shrimp offer at Red Lobster, they will exploit the optimal cost of ownership and near infinite useful life of the ICE vehicle purchase.

Not a good comparison. Red Lobster is a chain restaurant, Ford is an automobile manufacturing company. Now someone needs to tell Ford management that Ford is not a west coast tech startup. Any attempt to become that will ultimately fail.

Layoffs to this point have been due to the failures of Ford’s management to be something Ford is not. Ford is not a 100% EV company, a software company, a mobility company or whatever stupid idea management comes up with next. I like EVs and hybrids, a hybrid works perfectly for my personal situation. But obliviously ICE is not going away for a while. And yet Ford management lays off ICE engineers believing everything will be EV in 10 years. Very stupid. Now they are going to have to lay off from model e to bring back ICE engineers to support the shift to hybrids.

fake news... red lobster has been in trouble for years and years. all you can eat shrimp has nothing to do with it, it was their last ditched attempt to survive and it didn't work. what does that have to do with layoff at ford?
