I’m taking it. I’ve got a little over 10 years in and it’s a nice kickstart to find something better. Whoever said it will be bad for those that stay back is spot on. Especially since we have not recovered from the last one yet. SME knowledge is not around and getting worse. There will be more reorganizations and then more rifs. I’m also hearing that my managment chain will not be denying anyone so I feel safe that I will get through. The job market is not bad at all. Good luck.

Some employees in my department keep sharing articles and talking about how doom and gloom it is out there. I’m not sure if they are talking themself and others out of it or trying to talk others out of it so they don’t get rejected.
I know of only one other person who is open about taking it. Last go around in a very different team environment everyone knew who was taking it virtually from day one.
Last VSP was not 40%. Roughly 30% volunteered and 23% were accepted. This time around I suspect there will be few, if any, rejections, so 30-35% might be realistic. We'll know soon enough. Only sure thing is that it will get uglier for those who stay.
Been asking around. The take rate in all teams I’ve been able to survey is 20-30% this go-round. It was closer to 40% last VSP.

If it’s up to the ignorant, incompetent, unskilled, and clueless HR and finance teams in VBG then we will never know. They can’t find their butts with a flashlight and both hands. Never before in any company I’ve worked for have I seen such incompetence in the finance and HR teams. No wonder the company is tanking and the employees morale is in the dumpster. You can blame the current train wreck on having no one in either team capable of making a rational decision.
