Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

CEs and SAMs getting laid off

So I heard today in a leadership meeting to prepare for all CEs and SAMs getting laid off. Verizon is going the way of t-mobile and just keeping new account acquisition positions. This seems ridiculous if you ask me. I was the only one who brought up my concerns like why is everyone in these high level meetings just yes wo/men get out bow while you can!

Humans will always be needed in some capacity for troubleshooting or nuanced maintenance—still, artificial intelligence, MyBiz, and digital prospecting aim to allow self-service with minimal human interaction without requiring a large sales force. With contracting for customer service you don't need a heavy domestic presence in the US, since workloads will switch based on time zone. Customer base is not the problem, scaling support is the problem, and those solutions will alleviate it.

We will all be using my biz assistant to process orders and it will replace us

I heard that some SAMs and CEs got the VSP offer.

From a long term SAM, business has slowed significantly over the past few years. A major change is needed but letting everyone go would be extreme. However, there’s currently a pilot in place to run everything through MyBiz. So transactions will no longer be needed by reps.

Highly doubtful. The customer base is too large.
