Guys, former VZ here and no love left… and I hate to rain on the parade of all the nitwits here but you all do realize you’re talking about a Fortune 30 company, the largest telecom in the world, that makes $130bil a year and is still wildly profitable right? Sorry to say, but no one is buying VZ

Agree. Tommy Maguire and Bobby Mudge have numbers in mind. We'll see how close VSP and, potentially, RIFs get us to that number. Brightspeed isn't buying us until all that sorts out.

I pushed the button so I'm doing my part. Good luck to all.

Brightspeed will buy wireline. They have Apollo backing them & with lots of free government money for broadband they'll make it profitable. Hans will move on to destroy another company.

Made attractive to analysts on the street. They are the only ones that matter.

I think VZ certainly could get bought out, just not by AT&T or T-Mob. But maybe Ericsson or Samsung make a play. Remember the rumors about Apple years ago? So yeah, not going to be another US telecom carrier.
And with the recent RIF, the VSP, the super rushed re-orgs, yeah. I can see it happening.

VZ in its current form, corporate structure, and bloated employee headcount, cannot operate within the current competitive landscape.

There is no additional alternative to generate corporate revenue nor top-line growth.

Yes, good point, corporate bankruptcy.

The best option for VZ is to declare Delaware bankruptcy and to ask the US federal government for a bailout. And Boeing should do the same. For VZ and Boeing, both, thus ki-ling their respective union labor agreements.

D-mb question. Never in my lifetime will VZ be sold nor will have a buyer. Any VZ sale would be blocked by the FTC and the current administration occupying the White House oval office. The current administration wants more competition and in this example the end result will be free cellular smartphone service by keeping competition alive -- because they want everything to be at the lowest possible price for the consumer.

Nobody wants overpaid under qualified managers that talk a good one but can't produce nothing. Lipstick on this pig will not work.

You would have to get rid of all unioners otherwise Verizon will remain worthless.

Oh gawd, why does this keep coming up!?!?!?! NO ONE WILL BUY VZ AS A WHOLE!!!

It's too big with too much baggage that FCC would never allow it.
