Loved my four years in KL for personal quality of life but the combination EM control structure and Asian love of rules vaulted id--ts like Zan Ismail into positions of power. Hugh Thompson and Zan Ismail were two of the most net negative employees I've ever come across.

@kdk, KL is gone. India will take over support .It will take over suoport in that time zone, just like BA does for the Americas.

How can BTC rock or even flourish in the future? Education just isn’t there. EM will disperse in sections before BTC runs the company.

Embarrassing comments from BTC

At one point BTC and KLTC will be downsized with most of the work shipped to MSP or replace by AI. MSP and AI will do a better job than BTC and KLTC anyway…..

We keep KLTC because there is still Singapore complex. KLTC is a joke though with all the engineers jumping to Petronus after 2-3 years

Long time coming, but sorry to see it go. So many good memories of EMEPMI and KL. So many of us cut out teeth in the business there and went on for bigger things. Truly a magical experience. I guess all those good people will wind up w Petronas, maybe we cherry pick a few. Same for KLTC. EM assets are dwindling, I guess we'll put our eggs in a few big plays and call it a day. The US should move on to higher level industries now anyway, let 3rd world people manage this old dinosaur if a business and shareholders get the profits. Nothing wrong w that

We divested the producing assets in Argentina and Brazil in the past, but maintained the GBCs there, so selling Malaysian assets doesn’t mean anything about the future of KLTC.

KLTC will be downsized over the next few years as BTC continues it's relentless manning up. Folks in the West can kiss your a-s goodbye if the Company is progressing downsizing an organisation it values above the West locations (KLTC).

So if EM doesn't produce nor refine hydrocarbons in Malaysia, what if any reasons we would need keep technology center? And EM has been super aggressive in staying up Bangalore tech center. Hmm wonder if that's related?

We are due to transfer operator ship to Petronas by Jan 1, 2025 anyway so was the worst kept secret. Our Malaysian affiliate is Arlene seeing high attrition and EM don’t give a f.
