Does day in office count if you forget your badge

If you use a temp badge does it count?

This is so simple. A badge swipe OR a connection to the network. Either or.

Visitor badges don’t count. As long as you actually go into the building and connect to the network you are fine.

As far as I have been told by my manager, the temp badge gets linked to your profile. I lost my badge in the last year, and had a temp badge for over a month before my replacement finally came. When they recently audited our RTO compliance, none of those weeks I had a temp badge were flagged. But my manager knew about the issue, so maybe they were able to override it

Grey colored temp badge is linked to your profile the same way your permanent badge is. The red colored guest badges are not and you won't be in office according to badge swipes. Your computer connecting to the network should still count since badge swipes are not always an effective way to track in office reporting - it's just one part of the algorithm.

The remote badges now are tied to your name via Guardian - so yes

Easy, sign in, go through the back door to the S drive. Type “C: enter” all set.

What it counts is your IP address logging in to the network, not the badge.

Your normal badge should be turned off if they assign you a temporary badge. Guardian also sends your manager an email. Some of these responses don’t make sense.

As long as you connect to the network on your computer for long enough for it to register, it should still count. I know this because I once asked my manager to check after I forgot my badge and the report had me in, and since then I’ve forgotten it a couple more times and it never caused me to dip below the 3 per day average.

This whole thread is full of misinformation. So many contradictory statements.

I don’t know why I’m responding but the managers can view a report. They can get fairly granular beyond the default average displayed if they want to. But I have specifically tested badge only, wells provided laptop only, wells VDI terminal only , temp badge only, and combos of all of the above. Everything counted as RTO except temp badge swipe only.

Don’t believe it? You can easily test yourself.

Just another example of zero transparency related to RTO. If you asked a few people you may get all different answers. For months I was told badge swipe is what counts. Then recently I was told login location by IP Address The temp badge issue should not be held against anyone. If they would state clearly which one they check that would be helpful. Honestly think they prefer the uncertainty.

No it doesn’t. Had this confirmed. I emailed security to get written confirmation they provided me a temp badge and I badged in but that it would not be linked to my profile, (therefore not count towards the reporting of “in office”.) I included my manager on the email for documentation so it could not be counted against me.

I asked security about this a month or so ago. When they issue you a temporary badge, as long as they assign it to you in the computer, it shows as you using the badge and it counts. Now if they are using generic visitor entitlements on the badge and not assigning it to you, I don't believe you'll be counted as in office but I could be wrong.

they use combination of badge swipe and login, so as long as you log into the network you should be counted. As someone else mentioned. have your boss check the report.

It'll pick up via IP address. Now, if you visit and don't log in? That won't work.

At my site they track by mapping your login to the IP. My badge broke and I had to use a guest badge for a week.

I was curious, so I had my manager check the report and it recorded me in office each day I was there.

Nope. I forgot mine once and they used it against me. I even sent selfie to boss that I was in.
