“The barn” is in Hillsboro, OR and at one point held well over 1000 people. I’m not sure if it ever approached 2k or not. It was around as a center for first interstate bank many, many years ago.
It had held credit card customer service, various collections groups, customer service for home equity loans, disputes, and many other groups over the years.
Because you haven’t heard of it doesn’t make it unimportant. Stop echoing the same bullsh-t of SVB that minimizes the impact of location strategy. If you think the cuts stop here, good luck in your delusion.
CCNF = credit card non fraud. Disputes essentially. I'm in CCCS (credit card customer service) and we had a hard time getting through to CCNF and fraud yesterday due to the massive amounts of layoffs in those departments. I am in the other Oregon site (not the barn) and we are down to a few people rattling around in a half empty building and being told it could be another year before they can have enough to replace us. Morale is in the toilet. It's like working at a funeral home based on the level of energy
@1ule FIB? That's going back a ways. Like back to the Wells Fargo was actually Wells Fargo days. That merger is what weakened WF enough that Norwest could afford them.

For those of you I worked with over the years at the Barn who got their notice, I will miss you. The reason I’ve stayed so long (other than severance lol) is the amazing people I have worked with over the years at the Barn. Some of you have truly been compassionate humans and I will miss seeing you on the days we are forced to go into the office.
I can’t believe that you’re haven’t gotten my notice yet. For those of you who need support, information, whatever it is, please reach out to your friends you met at the Barn. We are here to help each other out.
GTFO with that BS. Core locations will get shut down soon enough, and then you'll be in the exact same position as those in the Barn. Get some Fing empathy. The Portland metro was an important location for many years at FIB and later WF. Thousands and thousands of employees. Now it's down to under 1k between the barn and the tower. Don't strut around like you're superior, they'll come for you eventually unless you're in I&P.
I can't wait until "barn" is completely shuttered.
