Here's hoping this gives the guys at the D9 bargaining table a little something extra during negotiations

Why is Wire Tech pay still an issue this far into contract negotiations? For the love of all that is good and holy, THE COMPANY is about 4 years deep into THEIR OWN INITIATED PLAN of paying Wage Scale 32 Digital Techs to do Wire Tech work. The union didn’t come up with the idea, the Digital Techs DAMN SURE didn’t come up with it, and 99% of them don’t want to do that type of work anyways as it’s not in the SSIM/BFS scope of work.
Since it was the company’s idea to pay more, it should be a done deal by now. Either treat the employees equally or put the Uverse work back where it belongs with the Wire Techs. It seems highly unethical to continue this 2 tiered process.
Wake up Wire Techs!! Know what’s going on. Hold accountable those who have & continue to allow this process to perpetuate.

Wire/Prem Techs have had the highest turnover rate for over 15 years, there is a reason for that. It’s used to be sweatshop type of an environment with unlimited forced overtime, workloads and toxicity. Employees were expected to finish the load everyday no matter how long it took but once they got union representation and a contract, working conditions and rules improved. There is still a ways to go to make those positions tenable for any length of time, better wages, working conditions and other benefits. These outside positions are the future techs because, the company hasn’t had any new hires in all the other positions, they are being reduced through attrition. Any open positions or reqs filled, is just a shuffling of the chairs on the deck.

“…..Plus the more Mobility eqpt that goes in the CO, less need for techs over all.
Soon, vender installs eqpt, Mobility provisions, your done.”

Theirs is and will be a minuscule amount of mobility equipment in our COs. Most COs don’t nor will they ever have any.

Did it talk about how the CWA let down all the SR’s, and CSA’s in the call centers when it let the company shut them down, send the work to third party overseas vendors and they never batted an eye - but they sure took the dues money?
Guessing not.

Always claim overwork and underpaid when negotiating.

I'm ready to receive my layoff notice, have been for quite some time! The company just feels the need to keep technicians working only one order per day and nothing for the rest of the day, usually around 3-4 hours per day for a full days pay! Gotta love that!

Over all, it is a small percentage of the employees.
Prem Techs are paid less than if they worked for a vender installing batteries or telecom eqpt.
It s&cks to be them, when they look in a CO parking lot and see tower trucks parked in the shade.
Plus the more Mobility eqpt that goes in the CO, less need for techs over all.
Soon, vender installs eqpt, Mobility provisions, your done.
