Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon will treat you the way you allow it to treat you

Take that any way you want, but that's the truth.

Let's not be foolish here there are some hard workers here and there are some hardly working. The ones hardly working don't generate money and are all at the top. Reading books trying to improve yourself and playing the role will not get you there it's always been the same it's who you know and who you blow that get you in those special rooms.

If you strongly believe that "$20 is $20" then you'll always "succeed" at VZ or any company.

As long as VZ remains "Woke", you'll never have to worry about how much that you're willing to debase yourself and shred your dignity in pursuit of that corporate paycheck.

There is a missing factor here, and that's the culture. The culture of the company is what drives behaviors (good or bad) and is continually reinforced by the leaders. If you follow the trends of the leaders, you will see how much they are moving the culture away or toward what you think is better. The people only serve within the culture. The company pays you to work in that culture. The bottom line is that if it is not headed where you think it should be going and you won't be happy then leave. If you don't care and just want to come in do your job and take whatever cr-p is dished, so be it. If you thrive in this culture then more power to you. Certainly the people on this message board represent a handful of employees (I'm one), some trolls, some ex-employees that I presume are bored, and whatever miscreants and deviants have nothing better to do. They do not represent the 1000's of voices of those that have pushed the button and the 1000's more that have not.

Then to the OP, I say exactly! You control your destiny and if Verizon isn't giving you what you want or need to be happy, then why are you still here?

PS (Job market is not bad by any means.)

Companies don’t treat people poorly, people within the company treat people poorly. Large distinction. In fact, everybody in the world will treat others poorly if one doesn’t stand up for oneself.
