Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Miserable every day

My team was told 2 years ago that we were getting laid off. Half the team is already gone. It is absolutely miserable logging in every day waiting for our news. We just want to be done. Majority of our team is checked out and ready while the rest of the team is still in denial and trying to prove their worth. Purposefully excluding our replacements from meetings and emails and not assigning them work. I wish we could volunteer for advance layoff. Every day is so painful.

I’m so glad that I didn’t work there, or anywhere in the tech or banking industry. These posts make me significantly sad. I try to put myself in your positions, but it’s just too painful. None of you were looking for, nor deserved what eventually happened to you. Bless you all.

Some days I do the bare minimum, while other days I get energized and go above and beyond. Guess it depends on my mood. But overall, kind of coasting ‘til I get displaced. Late 50’s, so somewhat close to retirement. My time at this place is valuable, as it would equate to about a years’ salary, so hard to leave for another gig.

If you want to coast and collect the paycheck till you get severance why complain. If you're really that miserable (this is by design) you can always look for a new job now if you don't want to wait.

Let's be honest, Wells Fargo has always been a blah employer. Norwest bank wrapped their tentacles around the stagecoach brand and took it down.

In my 20+ years, cannot recall a single moment of positive energy where we were roaring on all cylinders and working together to achieve something. Every year for review time was the same old story for paltry raises: "the bank has to weather this financial issue or economic uncertainty or blah blah blah blah".

I have always been an enterprise employee and would argue that even if I was working within a specific LOB, the grass wouldn't be greener. The bank simply su-ks the life out of everything in order to allow the few in control the best possible outcome. The majority of us regular folk have never had anything to write home about.

I know it stinks as we are the same but guess what? The job market su-ks and all the big companies are creating a hostile environment as they assert to gain more control over us. Our systems are breaking down and IT is clueless but hey offshoring jobs to India, DEI Hires and RTO we-ponizing is the norm. So do something you like on the side and come is with a new attitude like oh I’ll be as productive as my environment will allow me to be. You are getting paid so don’t give in! We’ve worked are selves to death for what???? So family and your health is most important. Yoga and meditation will help while you collect your check regardless of productivity. They want you to quit!!! F that!!!! Smile coz 3D Corp America is a game. Don’t play. Smile and be happy that less is now more.

Exactly this. Don't let these slimey failed "leaders" of the hook. Make them pay you the severance you deserve.

In my marketing group we still are expected to act like we are a hot sh*t advertising agency doing award winning work and the ECD is Don Draper. Some have drunk that yummy Kool-Aid. The rest of us smile and try not to drop dead of boredom as the ECD spews his verbal diarrhea in his endless, pointless mandatory meetings.

I find that I’m most productive when I’m miserable.

Wells Fargo wants you to be miserable. That way your more likely to quit.

It's best to stick around, do the absolute bare minimum, and make Wells Fargo pay severance and 60 days. You can also collect unemployment benefits as well.

Make them pay.

Ugh, that’s truly a terrible way to spend a day at work.
—-while you’re still employed you could start looking for another job. I get the severance is sweet… it’s possible you could find an amazing gig and flip off your team as you walk out the door!
Or quietly quit and paddle through it until you get notice.

Quit and find a new job, no sense in complaining about it here, because no one cares.

This describes our group as well. We still have a couple brown nosers running to tell on others for making small errors. Most of us have mentally checked out and just want to be put out of our misery.
