Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

If you’re nowhere near retirement, you don’t need to be poring over the VSP.

The job market is too flaky right now to be sc--wing around. Thinking you can apply for other jobs and time it so you get a paid vacation with spending money, then pick your career up right where you left off, is quite a tall task.

If you believe the job market mirrors Verizon you understand what you're up against. Degrees are trash at this point. Blue collar trades, will be the only hope. Learn from books but be ready to sweat or face a bread line. Have faith in your own ingenuity. You're in a massive shift.

This one’s pretty easy: pouring something over a book would mean spilling something on it. Poring over a book means reading it with great attention.

Your a weak two late dont you no anything hear is proof that is spelt pouring all weak long so their you go

Wrong again. It's indeed "poring."
pore
/pôr/
verb
gerund or present participle: poring
"be absorbed in the reading or study of."

If you have talent, it’s not that tall of an order.

Well the period to rescind is over so I have no further contro. As a bonus it it is out of anyones hands who has any idea who people are or what they do.

Just don’t take it personally as some start with suddenly blaming you for everything. It is how VZ treats people who leave. They are staying do let them have the false comfort they need.

Wow. Thanks for the advice. I typically don't take life advice from an unsolicited anonymous person on the internet but yours is so good that I just hit the revoke button.

vz is following the vsp with a rif then rebadge.

I took the vsp because I will get a full. year. salary with the package, which is what I would have to work a year for under a rebadge (one year guaranteed employment).

in both scenarios I end up without a job, but with vsp I get a year to job hunt instead of working for the same money.

Blasted puppy....It's too late anyway. Today is the last day to revoke your decision to accept the VSP. You had to have pushed the button by last Friday

Sounds like you're trying to increase your own chances of getting VSP approval by discouraging others from applying through fear-mongering.
Stop being so paranoid.
