Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Data Breach

AT&T Retiree here that just joined a class action suit against my former employer that hide the fact that my social security #, driver’s license #, DOB, personal cell #, address, etc were all part of the data breach. Now I’m getting alerts from my credit / fraud monitoring is all personal information is on the dark web.
While it pains me to do this, the fact they hide it for so long is not acceptable. So I joined the class action suit… it’s not like they can fire me….
Here’s the link if you or others want to join.

AT&T was not the first, nor will it be the last, to have your data leaked. If you think that your data wasn't already on the dark web, you are absolutely dreaming. While leaks su-k, I'm not sure T's leaks were any more egregious than say, Experian's. I've had multiple companies over the last decade offer credit monitoring due to breaches. As far as the length of time to disclose, I'm sure you know that the DOJ actually told T NOT to disclose it right after it happened, and T disclosed only when the DOJ told them to in July.

Hopefully financially this will cause a complete breakup of T. They need to be split, cell and Landline owned by different companies and make cell pay for the fiber networks they use to reach the towers.

I’m sure you’re right…. Just pi---d off and venting. Didn’t cost me anything to join the suit. I joined on principle only… hopefully this breach will be the straw that finally breaks Stankey’s back as CEO and gets him removed from the board. I know, wishful thinking since his ageism comments, failed T-Mobile deal, failed Direct tv, and failed Time Warner didn’t.

You will be dead before you see a penny. And all you will get is an expired coupon for $10 off your next phone purchase of $1000 or more. The lawyer will make millions in fees if he lives that long.

I was in the class action lawsuit for the 90's when Toxic-T stole the pension (cash balance) from us in '96. Was not settled until like 15 year later. Thrown out.

Good luck with out two tiered "injustice" system.

and go Stink! You Stink!
