TA hasn’t been announced yet and even still it would need to be ratified by the members so, still a ways to go before it’s a done deal. Until then, work stoppage is still an option.

D9 TA will be announced tomorrow. You union clowns should really give all the posturing a rest.

Are you managers ready for disaster recovery work in the CA areas currently on fire?

Yes! I'm feeling very confident I can perform the work required of me. The company computer based training and assessment questions have ensured I am ready to climb poles, splice copper and fiber, maintain our DC power plants and generators, work on our microwave links, and perform the necessary troubleshooting on high traffic network elements!

During a strike management doesn’t actually go out and do technician work. You show up at a work center and do your regular job on your laptop. The core/prem managers will get in a truck and may or may not attempt to do some maintenance work if they have done the job in the past. The company should just stop wasting money on this dog and pony show of assigning craft positions to management no one is buying it. We know how long it takes to have a minimum level of competence in our positions and its far from a couple of weeks and 5 or 6 training videos.

Maybe you are. I learned how to play the disability card from the union.

Ready to go. Fiber sales down, unemployment rising. Union should go this Saturday and Leadership will blink by Monday; new deal wrapped up before customer start cancelling services. This hurts everyone as cable is already there waiting to sweep in and take over even more market share. Cable and T Mobile is ki-ling it, while T is losing.

I agree with the sentiment expressed with Unions-craft, but would have said C suite agreed to their benefits because they were earned. In mgt, co-workers complained about the drive home in below zero weather and the request to empty our own trash can. How clueless can one be.

Union cost is a fraction of the BILLIONS spent on failed mergers as a kingdom game was being played. How many filmings did CEO sit-in on at studios. I can guess the ones attended.

" I hope this company realizes I’m not gonna be climbing a ladder or digging any holes"

Climbing a ladder, going into manholes, crawling into attics, crawling under houses, stringing wire, taking guff from customers after some rep sitting in air conditioning has p1ssed them off, etc., etc.....
It's all part of providing the service that our customers pay for.
I'm glad to hear that you admit to not wanting to do some actual work, you should just leave now and make space for someone willing to work.
Oh, you say you hope the company realizes, I'm quite sure all those in your group have realized for quite a while all the work you're not willing to do...

Unions-craft have preferential treatment because they are needed. No new lines (fiber or copper), broken lines repaired, house calls...

If my report is monthly or daily, there is no loss or corrective action taken. Respect your co-workers, upper management gave union their rights, argue with C suite.

Here’s the silver lining for non union employees. If you perform better than your peers you have the opportunity to make far more money

Nonsense. The layofg selections show merit has nothing to do with pay or security in management.

"I don't understand why unions think they should get preferential treatment."

Awwwww. Maybe because we are willing to fight for that preferential treatment. It appears the management side is whete the party is over. They turned into Lord of the Flies quick when RTO and Surplus started hitting close to home.

It’s about leverage. The union employees have leverage due to collective bargaining that non union people do not have. Here’s the silver lining for non union employees. If you perform better than your peers you have the opportunity to make far more money than a u ion employee. It’s good and bad for the union and the non union just different not better not worse.

Or here’s a better idea, maybe management should join a union so they could get better pay, benefits, and job security. T is out to sc--w all of the employees, but at least the union gives a semblance of protection against the company.

I don't understand why unions think they should get preferential treatment. They should have same benefits or lack there of as management. This is not the monopoly regulated company of 30 years ago or even 20 years ago. We are the smallest wireless company of the big three, and Fiber is not what cable is in the marketplace. Unions need to get that and give up on having benefits like good old days. Party is over boys.

It’s ok, you can muck out manholes and refurb copper cables while removing load coils and bridge tap. It’s a livin.

I didn’t know they’re trying to bring wire techs into core. They’ll need to do that in all the districts if they do it in California. I’ll take Californias old contract all day. They have the best and most expensive contract in the company!
