@tgj+1tMH9Gf4 What's the need to move it vs shutting it down? Neither factory in Chandler produces a product that is sold for money. Its a very expensive way to do TD that only Intel does.
There is a factory in the Chandler site. Factories can’t be moved easily or quickly. Seeing as to how nobody I know who works in the factory has even heard of this rumor yet, I find this very hard to believe.
It has happened in the past … anyone remember CH-11?
Maybe to Amkor?
Maybe PE?
This is the first I’ve heard of the site being sold. But I have heard rumors that CH4 was being shuttered and maybe even CH8.
Not likely, Assembly/Test development factory is located there. It is a core site. You can’t move the factory.
No first hand knowledge but a likely scenario would be a private real estate fund looking to get a nice property like that at a fire sale price. Lots of distress in commercial office space market and assets are being sold at deep discounts recently.
Who would buy it?? And for what purpose?
When you have -$1B per quarter in operating cash flows net of investments you tend to get creative to find ways to keep the Ponzi running until the moon shot lands.
No surprise there. Not much usage for years due to WFH.
True. All employees relocated to Ocotillo.
I would laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh.
Ohh boy.
