Get used to it. Even if you survive this cycle there will be more and more cycles every 6-12 months. Just prepare yourself for the worst case scenario so that you won’t be disappointed.

Intel needs to cut deep and keep cutting until every employee realizes they'll lose their jobs until they figure out how to make the company profitable. This is how corporate America works.
Intel is AMD from the 90s.
Some lame knock-off of something great.
There is nothing new about this process and Intel. Look at the company history. It has been a poorly managed company forever. It has only done well when it has a monopoly share of the market which masks its bad management. Intel could easily have gone out of business in the 80s (pay cuts and layoffs back then too). The only thing that saved it was IBM selecting the 8088 over the Motorola 68000 for the IBM PC. Intel has been steadily losing to the competition for the last quarter century. It is now to the point where Intel is losing in all aspects of the business. Recovery isn't likely but surviving as a lower tier supplier might be.
Haha at “new”! Been like this since 2014.
