Intel started in the 60's and has had one he-l of a run. Beat the odds to survive longer then most tech companies. But it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

Just my IMO but too much of his time and energy was spent on securing CHIPS Act funding. Now it appears we are mothballing fab projects while the product side struggles.

@fbq - If that's the case, how far behind do you think Intel would be by the time these people retire? There's only so much catching up a company is capable of. If it's been 5 hours and you're dead last in a marathon, you're not winning the race.

Just part the company out. It's done.

It's easy to throw rocks... what about a solution? Who would want to take over for Pat... and actually want to turn the company around, or just act like Swan sitting there, ignoring everything for a couple of years while raking in tens of millions of dollars? Pretty much anyone who they'll hire would prob cost 5x-10x what Pat is making, prob spend 50% less time trying to solve the problems... and will just sit there till Intel goes out of business, while making $100M+ per year. TMG and design both hit the wall around the same time... which is what is ki-ling Intel. TMG costs are so wildly out of control, it's insane... it's way cheaper to use TSMC, pay them 60%-70%, vs using TMG for manufacturing. As for design, all they know how to do is grow die size and increase power consumption to get minimal performance gains. Larger die size, along with poor TMG process node transition, results in high yield loss just of defect destines alone. And of the parts that come off the line, they need massive amounts of power to get the performance boost... because of all the leakage going on.

They'll announce another multi-billion dollar quarterly loss, mass layoffs, huge benefit cuts etc. and then the'll give Pat another 50% raise....

Intel Board, What are you willing to do for Intel's survival? Maybe it's time to rethink Pat and his $17Million salary.

A large part of Intel's problems stem from the culture that made it successful in the 90s. Those people are now are in grades 10-14 and they control a large portion of the company. They are not open to change and it is nearly impossible for a ceo to influence. As these people finally retire it will open up opportunities for younger more open minded people to be able to make changes and get rid of the antiquated processes and procedures that slow down and hold back the company. The company needs to make some radical changes if it is going to succeed. Building a lot more factories that follow old school ideas isn’t going to do it. Hiring a former senior manager who was passed over for the job of ceo was a bad idea. This is finally becoming apparent to the masses.

Intel can't succeed regardless of the CEO. What does that say about the general skillset of its employees? Time to take a hard look into the mirror and either figure out how to be productive or get ready for the company to go bankrupt and everyone losing their jobs.

Pastor Pat is not capable steer Intel in the right direction. Instead of focusing on operations inefficiencies, he just bloated the Org. He thinks China is stupid. While Pastor Pat is lobbying Biden to sanction China and trying get Govt bailout/subsidy(USA complains other countries of subsidy..lol!), but at the same time he wants to do business in China! LOL!
Pastor Pat, Sachin Katti shd get fired. Lower all of the NEX PE, Senior PEs to grade 8 or 9 since they are just doing G8 work. Intel became a org of overpaying marginal employees and promoting them to PE, Senior PEs!!!
