I decided a while ago that I will do the bare minimum that allows me to keep my job. I’ve been watching for years, not in this company only, people who were dedicated to their work, trying to build careers, looking for promotion and raise, sacrificing everything to their job, being in the end unceremoniously booted on a whim. I’m here only for my paycheck because companies treat us like easily disposable inanimate objects.

Wish all the losers who want to do the bare minimum would quit or take the VSP. We don’t need you here and we certainly don’t want you here. The rest of us care about making the company even greater than it is and we don’t need to carry your sorry a$$es anymore. Good riddance!

What you say is true. The Company exists to make money.
But for whom do you work?
I collect a paycheck from Verizon. But I work for myself and to the Glory of God.
There is a lot of truth here. I spend a long career, putting in extra hours, living a stressful life, and putting a lot of strain on my family. My work was always seen as valuable and done with quality. All of the sudden, I was pushed into VSP.
If you act like an easily disposable inanimate object you should expect to be treated as one. I hope you pressed the VSP button because you make all the people doing great things everyday very mad.
