December and March VSP release dates?

What chance does someone have to be released after September if you opted into the VSP? And who makes that decision? Is it HR, your immediate managers, or is it at the executive level?

Will this be decided based on the individual team, or was it already predetermined before the announcement?

Pretty sure NO ONE who clicked will get vacation accrual in September since that takes effect on the 16th. Last day of employment will be September 13th.

99% of people should get the first date. The only way to get a later date is if your management think you're so important you can't be released that soon. So they will make a case for you and push it upstairs to see if they can retain you longer. Several SVPs said anyone who applies is cut, no exceptions, so not looking good if you think you'll be here longer than that.

August 14th to Sept 13 is a really short time. Even if you include the 14th that is 176 hours max if someone is there every workday for 8 hours.

Make sure y’all don’t lose personal days (unless you work in a state that pays out) and don’t lose that vacation accrual on the 16th trying to help out somehow. We can’t come back so don’t ki-l yourself so close to escape trying to go above and beyond.

Much depends on your role and how long to transition your work, where/when needed, whether your position will be back filled (limited) and how many people on your team opted to take it. HR and your executive leadership decide.
Something like

5% March
35% December
60% September

“Who makes the decision?” Maybe they’ll run it through Gemini and let it have a go.

I’d guess everyone goes ASAP unless some senior leader somewhere really wants to push and can’t read the room.

If one is going to be released in March why release them at all? A fall RIF would over lap the December/March VSP releases, so September departures make the most sense.

  • 1% chance. Onlyexception would be is that the majority of the org accepted the VSP. and that would even depend opn which org did that. So very few will get extended, it be few and far between if any. They want all off payroll by Sept 13
