Intel is already getting massive government assistance. It got like $20B from the CHIPS act, which is now more than 20% of the entire market cap of the company. Intel is currently a large wealth destroyer in the American economy, basically zombie status. Not impossible to escape the spiral, but it’s important to recognize the scale of the problem.
My guess is that because of national security concerns, Intel is going to get some government assistance.
