Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Stay just until you find a better job, and preferably collect severance

Wait for severance only to the extent that you don't find a new gig that's worth moving. Get a new job while you already have one.

I have to remind myself of this almost daily, but it's not worth getting upset over things you can't control. Just do the best you can w/in the cluster f**k we have. Don't ki-l yourself by working crazy hours b/c it won't matter much on your review given most people will be "Meets". The exception being how team dynamics and leadership is treating you-- if it su-ks, bail asap. Otherwise, tough it out until you find a new job.

In a nutshell for all of us who want to leave as soon as possible but still want to get a severance. Source: @hdx+1tOhn0KC

This is terrible advice. You need to control your destiny and find something else. Doesn't hurt anyway.

People that say this usually have never been laid off and experienced unable to find employment past your severance.

If you are younger, you are better off getting another job if you really want to leave Wells Fargo. Many companies will match any equity you have and give you some sort of signing bonus to make up for any bonus you will lose from leaving. You can negotiate PTO to some extent, also. I think severance works well for older people like myself, who at 58 was displaced by Wells Fargo. I had the 60-day non-working plus a years’ worth of severance. I had planned to work until 60, when my healthcare kicked in from my military reserve retirement. But I found a part-time gig where I can work 20 hours a week at $50 an hour. So it all depends on your situation.

"Wait for severance only to the extent that you don't find a new gig that's worth moving. Get a new job while you already have one." Duh! Really! What a clever strategy.

This is a good definition of "quiet quitting". You do not owe Wells Fargo anything. The contract between you and this employer has changed. Take this time to focus on you. Learn AI to help you in the job search, career development, and self business modeling.
In the fourth turning long term careers do not exist. You are a business... not a chela to the corporation. Realize this if you want to succeed and thrive in this new environment.

Wells Fargo operations will fail due to lack of support, inherent bad design, more complex infrastructure, and ever changing security vulnerabilities. Eventually the customers will leave this bank as its systems failures differentiates Wells Fargo from other banks.
Wells Fargo will eventually reverse its offshoring P&I efforts and hire US consultants. There will be many scam reviews and layoffs along the way.

Its H1B everywhere I interviewed! I feel old everywhere I go.
They are all under 30, been in the country for 2~3 years and just have kids. They don't like me and I can't find a job.

Outside Wells there are opportunities you can shine. Over last 5 years after the fake accounts scandal, the company changed a lot without any WOW success. I left the company for better opportunity and no regrets after working for more than 25 years.
