Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Such honest negativity!!

Why do I want to wait for my severance??? Please remind me again....been with WF for more than 4 yrs but less than 10. Not in hub site, and don't want to relocate to one. 😔😔 (Sigh) I have been looking...and will continue to look...just to be prepared. This whole situation is just depressing and sad. To think I was silly and tried so hard to get on this sinking ship since 2011!! Only for it to end with the anticipation of a layoff just su-ks! (Ok rant over....just needed a positive reminder if there is one; for me to stay. )

Look for a new job. Chances are you quit your last job and didn’t get severance so why expect it. If you get it great. If not then fine.

If you stay at Wells Fargo you're guaranteed to be professionally and personally degraded and more than likely your work will be stolen and someone else will take credit for it because that's the way it is... You get paid and there you go if they lay you off because you're not at a hub location then at least you will get the layoff pay but if you quit well you get no pay advancement.

The reality is you're not going to be asked to relocate Wells Fargo isn't going to relocate anyone to a hub location and they're not telling people to relocate either they actually want to cut such people as this initiative started over 6 years ago.

Stay on board deal with it a little bit longer when they lay you off you'll get a bigger paycheck on top of whatever leave you have saved up and if it's at the beginning of the year you will also get your severance assuming that you qualify for that.

Just remember here at Wells Fargo you're nothing and you will always be nothing you're just a seat filler who's expected to make someone else look more competent at their job so dance monkey dance and be proud of the fact that you're able to dance

Had a guy tell me the other day he missed a meeting because of Diwali. So I looked it up and it's not until October? Wtf?

The only reason to stay is that you haven’t found anything better yet.
Make them pay you to look for a job. Make searching and interviewing your full time job while you do the minimum to keep your manager off your back.

4 years?
That isn't enough in to stick around and wait for Severance.
Go look for a new gig.

Over 25 years here, they'll have to pay me to leave. I will withstand the mental abuse for my payment!!

“Don't ki-l yourself by working crazy hours b/c it won't matter much on your review given most people will be "Meets”

You guys do know that 30% of the bank is sitting with below meets ratings, right?

Wait for severance only to the extent that you don't find a new gig that's worth moving. Get a new job while you already have one.

I have to remind myself of this almost daily, but it's not worth getting upset over things you can't control. Just do the best you can w/in the cluster f**k we have. Don't ki-l yourself by working crazy hours b/c it won't matter much on your review given most people will be "Meets". The exception being how team dynamics and leadership is treating you-- if it su-ks, bail asap. Otherwise, tough it out until you find a new job.

In this exact situation. It is extremely hard. But take the advice about accepting failure. Lower the standards for yourself and keep collecting that check. Kick the can down the road for as long as possible. Pretend you are your Indian counterpart and it makes things a whole lot easier. The expectations for them are extremely low so align yourself to that.

Learn to stop caring. It’s hard after being professional and maintaining a strong work ethic for so long. Learn to accept failure and know that it’s not YOUR failure. Keep failing and accepting those paychecks. A little something I learned from my Indian counterparts
