I’ve been going through the motions here for a while waiting to be laid off. I feel for the people who are scared of losing their jobs and who are facing the existential threat in the current job market. But we accepted this id--tic corporate mantra of “every man for himself”, and I’m purely thinking of myself right now. I just can’t wait to leave, but I will also not make it free for this lousy company.

January till last month was a perfect time for the job market
Now, its a hot mess. I would highly recommending accepting a move to Iran if ATT moved jobs there
good luck everyone!

Then why all the hiring in past couple of years? Only to lay off said new employees? I have seen recent hires laid off. Sounds lik mismanagement.
And you do not understand that the simple fact is that there are too many employees at T, irrespective of macroeconomic factors. Too many mouths to feed and not enough money.
Wait a minute!! I thought that 75% of the people on this forum wanted to be laid off.
All talk, I guess
Give me a severance package and I'll gladly leave. Seems many of the ones who get severance are the ones not in a hub that don't want to leave and were happy not being miserable in a hub.
If there could only be consequences for leadership’s performance, they should have been fired a long, long time ago and a new leadership team hired. T would have been out of this death spiral a long time ago but the BOD and Wall St. kept doubling down so, here we are. Blaming employees for too many mouths, not enough revenue and treating them disrespectfully, shows character flaws and narcissistic behavior. It all falls back on the failed M&A strategy of Whitacre, Stephenson and Stankey. Put the blame where it belongs, back on the narcissist who ruined a nearly 150 year old Blue Chip company and culture.
And you do not understand that the simple fact is that there ate too many employees at T, irrespective of macroeconomic factors. Too many mouths to feed and not enough money.
“ Love how the small minds love to draw the world of politics into a discussion about layoffs.”
You do understand, politics, economic policy, inflation and layoffs go hand in hand. Here at the T we have another rail for on-going layoffs, failed leadership. Recession is raising its ugly head so, now you can add low job opportunities to the list, in the near future. Did you see how employment numbers way under performed for the quarter? That is according to the govt. economist, they are talking recession again with the current Bidenomics.
TAX THE RICH AND OVER 10 YEARS AMERICA WILL HAVE OVER 6 TRILLIIN DOLLARS. And I'm not talking about taxing people that think they are rich 200,000 illainaires. I'm talking about millionaires.
Love how the small minds love to draw the world of politics into a discussion about layoffs. Put on you MAGA hat, have a beer, and calm down.
Inflation at its best, thanks to uncle Joe and the laughing Chameleon, who did nothing but run off her staff. Another “great leader” I’m sure Stankey has her lined up for a consulting job to work with Randall the vandal.
They are ALWAYS ongoing.
And thanks to Bidenomics the job market will be a major challenge for those laid off. Tech jobs are very difficult to come by, so good luck to all impacted by the Stankey vision of this company!
“Real leaders, lead by taking ownership, listen, innovate, award and empower their employees. Weak leaders look to blame, micromanage via fiat, disincentivize and create toxic work environments for employees.”
The aforementioned “weak” are NOT ‘leaders’ at all. They’re counterfeit frauds.
There are pockets of layoffs going on in Jason Press organization. Off payroll date Sep 6. Also in September most of those in wave 2 off payroll. Surplus part is about 5%.

Within 30 days of Dist 9 contract ratification
Until morale improves.
There will never be a pause on the layoffs
They are happening weekly.
Stankey continues his legacy of layoffs. He has ran out of furniture cushions to look under for change so, instead he has a policy of addition by subtraction. Real leaders, lead by taking ownership, listen, innovate, award and empower their employees. Weak leaders look to blame, micromanage via fiat, disincentivize and create toxic work environments for employees.

Ask your leaders. Each org is on their own schedule.
