Is there at least a vague idea floating around? I’ve been wondering, because it will also determine the scope of RIFs which will surely follow. I was eligible to take VSP, decided not to, and I’m worried I made the wrong decision. I know it’s pointless to worry about it now. It’s also maybe pointless to try and figure out what’s coming, but one can’t help oneself. It’s anxiety working.

Why worry about it now? You made your choice. Verizon will be fine and so will your job.
@2tkv+1tPp7MLE this VSP was identical to the one in 2018
I didn’t see anything either stating RIF package would be lower than packages in the past. Last VSP in 2018 (?) it was speculated that RIF packages would be lower than the (2wks/yr x 35 week) standard. That reduction did not come to fruition.
This VSP was a little sweeter than last time to encourage even more folks - so never say never to the standard package getting lowered.
I did not get an email stating offers after VSP would be lower. GCO. What groups?
They're doing a RIF in Nov, and rebadge shortly after. They warned everyone in email that offers after VSP would be lower than prior. Anyone who gets a rebadge will be an employee of another company = no package at all.
some groups had higher buy in than others. For example, some groups had too much buy in and they had directors asking people to reconsider.
I heard the overall VSP rate across the company was under 15%. And RIF coming in a few months to make up the shortfall.
believe me , not enough took it. just in our org, there are enough folks pushing close to 20 years , they did not opt in . speaking to some of them, after VSP there will be enough openings and chaos for them to settle for few more years. Another year in, will cover for the additional weeks from 3x VSP. just what i heard.
Think that RIFs will be that far out ? Oct/ Nov ? I was thinking it would be done by end of September, so it’s done for 4th quarter
My opinion - The RIFS I'm October/Nov will be larger than normal Rifs in the past.
I heard that they did meet their goal. Bit that doesn't mean anything.
They going to Rif big and Reorg huge. Those that survive will have almost twice the workload and if you are field ops that means twice the work and twice the area.
I took the VSP but I am close to retirement age.
Good luck my friend
Good luck my friend.

A few engineers, 3 managers and a director… apparently they know something I don’t 🤷🏻♂️ …. That’s actually big considering there are 5-6 managers total
What org are you in?
