Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I can confirm list is being made!

I am Sr Mgr in Engr Team

My director has asked me identify people from our unit and make a list

The list is due this weekend

The whole environment is pathetic and given a chance I will leave too!

We have also been asked to reduce by certain $ amount of capital expenditure, so basically that translates into how many heads you can cut. Cutting in India will mean more heads to meet same $ amount, so main target is US!

I have been with Cisco since 2000 and I can tell you that there is no place worse than this now, not even INTC

"If the announcement is in August the list would have been made in June"

I used to think this way. But last December, just before the shutdown, they told folks to put together a list by january 6th, a total emergency rush job. They are doing it again - moving quickly, so to speak.

Anything to prevent leaks, even if it means the planning is a mess. The move reeks of desperation.

If the announcement is in August the list would have been made in June. For the February layoff the list was started after Thanksgiving and 99% finalized before Christmas break.

The news is that chuck himself said in a global meeting that we have to take tough decisions on July 15. Most of the time , it is about laying off people.
Also, Gary the SPLUNK guy keep taking pot shots at cisco for not knowing when the close certain business and keep dragging.
Since 2015 the stock prices indicates that CEO is failure. Not sure why he isnt getting fired. There is no buzz , there is no excitement, toxicity at highest.
Cisco is on its way to INTEL.

@aer+1tPsG6uB Cisco needs NOW a deep review by an independent consulting company to identify the groups of people ruining Cisco with selfish political powerplays. A lot to clean up in EMEA.

People over 60 are a target. We need investigative reporting to uncover this insanity! Legal and HR always find loopholes.

We already knew this a few weeks ago in the UK org when one of the local managers leaked it inside of Bedfont Lakes. They were asked for names by the SSED. Similar for the sales managers where the order came from the MD and the VP.

All the best to everyone.

A senior manager who doesn’t know the difference between capex and opex ? Things are worse than I thought!

Yes, I am still with Cisco. I am 50+ yr old and have been with Cisco for 24 years now, but totally sick and tired of it!! Its very hard for a person in my age to find a job

Just too much politics at my level, nothing short of a-s licking my Sr Director who has absolutely no technical skills! But I have to do to save my job until I find another one which is the hardest part.
