Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco is becoming what Intel is today - becoming irrelevant

And running itself to ground with toxic workplace, constantly laying offs, stock going nowhere, and technical folks talked down by managers and Directors. Once a technical giant, poor management and selfish motives has gunned this great company. What’s left now is, crumbs and loyal customers lurking if still worth hanging around….

Aironets, catalyst center, viptela do 10000 great things
My question is who cares about this
80 percent of customers have no need for them
95 percent of AMs don't event know how to present them let alone tie it to a real world ROI or business case

Simplify it all and speak to customers more

This is part of what they say is the one Cisco motions EN and Meraki

I will say this from the sales side at least Meraki people speak to the customer and sell
Not just press approve mindlessly

Want a good Wireless LAN solution going forward? Don't count on it. They've fired every experienced Aironet person in Richfield, OH and shut the building down. Now it's being run by a handful of 30somethings in Meraki who have never designed, built, or debugged anything in their lives...

It would appear that AI has supplanted NI - Natural Intelligence at the leadership levels at CSCO.

It’s been years since customers considered Cisco relevant to their business strategy.

20+ years ago, when corporations needed to get connected to the Internet, Cisco had a seat at the table. Because Chambers and Robbins were unable to create the next growth business for Cisco, our sales people can’t get access to the C-Suite anymore.

Customers still need to buy routers and switches, but Cisco is no longer the 800 lb. gorilla because we never solved our complexity problem. When you think about the billions in R&D spending and acquisitions over those 20+ years and realize those dollars didn’t move the needle in our customers’ eyes, you really wonder what the Board and the senior executives have been doing besides resting on their laurels and collecting fat paychecks.

Texas would be a great state for CSCO to move HQ to.

You can sell the federal government outdated switches & routers for 30 more years. Followed by some overpriced services to boost the revenue.

Outsource all jobs to Eastern Europe and Asia. This is the management plan to reduce cost.

Bay Area companies cannot pay high inflated salaries and employ thousands. Silicon valley is a victim of its own success.

Still no 1 or no2 in many teach areas. US government and many other countries rely on Cisco for critical network and connectivity infrastructure.

Cisco has been aggressive in cutting jobs and staying relevant. Their target is to keep employee count at a certain level.

The leadership is the worst, incompetence has created a toxic culture. However, be assured they all remain smug, steadfast and self congratulatory, that this semi annual ritual of callously ending someone’s career and livelihood, is totally brilliant.
