Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Massive Layoff’s

If you are a company that has laid of hundreds or thousands of people...

You should have ZERO jobs advertised.

Other than a handful of niche or specialty roles, any open positions could be filled by someone you have laid off.

If you need to cut costs, give people who already work for you some options... moving to a different role, taking on less responsibility, or taking a step backwards temporarily.

They WILL place layoff people into open positions where possible. Happened to/for when I was given notice. Co-worker was same after about 5 weeks

The only reason they are offered is that HY has correctly calculated that only a very small % will accept considering interest rates, the strategic direction of the company, and employee morale. If more people were willing to move, they wouldn't offer, and in fact many location strat term victims are expressly denied requests to relo even if they currently reside just outside the 40 mi rule.

Many in CSBB are turning down the relo offers as they don’t want to move. So they are hiring the replacements in core cities now. Is it a good strategy? No. Is it happening and can it explain over 1000 US openings? Yes.

They layoff employees and replace them with contractors.

If they don't keep hiring, they'll run out of people to lay off. Charlie has to have his 'Tuesday Fundays.'

The firm still has an asset cap, consent decrees and a growing union so Charlie is clearly not doing a good job. The firm should be broken up, the brokerage offloaded and Charlie should be fired. Just utterly useless Every employee at Wells has an obligation to the clients and to force change.

The wrong people keep leaving so they are backfilling while cutting. Such poor design

It's not about downsizing in a lot of cases, it's about getting rid of US, specifically.

Labor shortage every year, no layoffs needed.
