Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Layoff reasons aren’t truthful

Risk team of 55 employees, including 10 managers. We were informed that the location strategy and remote positions would be the first to be eliminated. This information proved to be inaccurate, as four individuals who were not working remotely and were seared in or close to primary locations were let go. Exercise caution regarding the information provided.

If anyone trusts Wells with anything at this point… that is on them. This place is a criminal organization and they have made it very clear

But 9,000 miles away is close enough? Give me a break. There are countless teams that they have added one indian dude to. He's not collaborating with anyone in his team whether he's in office or not, but that's perfectly ok...but an American that is within easy driving distance of the actual team and is perfectly willing to make the drive "has to go". 😐 Stop supporting these lying executives. It won't save you in the end.

“Close to”??? 41 miles away is too far. And there will be some layoffs in core locations but they should be more thought out (so they say).

OP not trying to be rude here but here are a few questions.

  1. What were your reviews like the past three years.
  2. Did you hit your 3 days RTO numbers consistently?
  3. Were your deliverables on time?
  4. You said risk, were you ahead of the curve when it comes to RSCA or behind it?
  5. Did you work well with others?
  6. Was your salary above and.beyond everyone else’s?

All these questions and much more could lead you to the answer. I would rather have a remote worker who works on my team than someone who is in a core location that doesn’t work on my team. I am sure WF would too.
Luckily the team I run hasn’t been hit yet.

Promises expense cuts, then spends half a billion dollars on NYC office space that no one wanted. That tracks.

I have not heard what you heard. I heard Charlie promise 10 billion in expense cuts in 2021 and layoffs in 2024 mostly based on location strategy. Both can be true. What difference does it make?

The elimination of the domestic work force is Shart's only objective. Prove me wrong.

Multiple initiatives to achieve the same goal of cutting expenses are being executed:

Location Strategy to scare you
Offshoring to backfill you when u go
Efficiency projects to plain drop you
