Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

P4 or a P5 ? Or No WF ?

I am in Charlotte, NC. I was displaced as a P5. My pay was $155K when I was at the P5.
I am currently in my severance. Notice Period ended a couple of weeks back. Severance will end on 11/22.

I have been interviewing and was offered a P4 today. Salary is the same $155K.

Should I accept it ? I need a job .. or should I keep looking for P5 or something outside of WF? Feeling confused..

s already mentioned, you have no choice. If offered a WF position and you decline you will lose your severance. READ the severance documents.you received and signed.

Not true. Position must be "equivalent" to your old one.

“How do you know if you're P4 or P5 or something else?” search the job profile in workday and it will tell you. Plus seniors are 3, leads are 4, senior lead is 5.

Take the job and continue to look for something else outside the company . You can always quit later

I'm going to ask a super d-mb question. How do you know if you're P4 or P5 or something else?

Bonus is the key to negotiate on. Try and get same bonus level. Subsequent years will be based on budget which is set here at offer. That’s a healthy salary for p4. Is it in software development or what area?

Who gives an S about the "level" of the position. The pay is the only level that ever mattered, and it's the same as your old gig. Seems like a no brainer.

Take it… I’m a P5 and I’m in 130s in the CLT market. If you have been gone less than 6 months your tenure returns as if you never left. why not make more money with less responsibility.

Take it - you were underpaid anyway at p5 - like others said you can get a bump when you get to p5 again.

Your severance package will tell you that if you’re offered a new role within WF while on severance, and you turn it down, you forfeit the remaining severance because it’s considered a resignation. That’s why you only interview for roles you want.

why not take it if you have nothing else lined up or in the works.

I mean, you have a chance to keep your same pay that puts you in something like the 90th percentile of your city, before your severance even runs out and for theoretically less responsibility. A lot of recently laid off people have been jobless for months. If I were in your shoes I’d take it, I mean if you were confident you could find something better in the next 3 months you wouldn’t be here asking us, right?

You can always take it and then be on the lookout for something better still somewhere else.

take it! same salary keeps you paying bills - they tend to not mess with corporate titles - getting a future p5 role again will let you get a promotional pay increase - and you can always always always just keep looking externally! easy decision
