Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Culture compass

Don’t do it not responding says more than doing it. Global sees it as if you respond that means that you are under the impression your opinion matters. I forget the exact number of people they claimed said they are confident in the direction of the company I think was in the 70% range. No way in he-l that is the case.

Another year of record responses I bet you will all see great things coming from this. Or will it be like prior years where things just keep getting worse?

Let’s see all the great changes that the company will make after this year’s survey. I know nobody asked for pay increases or better insurance prior years. Everyone focused on asking to cut labor and positions right?

I’m sure the all the TMs really advocated for all the great changes the company has made in recent years. Leadership is told to push that the decisions made last year had been influenced by the survey. “Tell the TMs we care, don’t actually make beneficial changes”

  • If we pretend to care the id--ts at the bottom will believe it”.

A couple of years back, the head of our dept (IT) was going over the results of the CC with us (bad enough that we had to do it, then we had to hear about it afterwards). Anything that wasn't a glowing high percentage he harrumphed over, calling the low marks "opportunities" for management to work harder to get their point across. I laughed and laughed. It was just that bare faced. They aren't interested in your "opinion;" they just want a metric to kick around upstairs as to how well their lies are penetrating.

The prior posts just reiterate my point don’t bother. Realizing that nobody up top actually cares about the money makers at store level is the first step in the correct direction. Nobody wants your feedback they are just banking on some people thinking what they have to say is even considered. It’s optional so take the option to not do it at all.

I believe that people responded so that "70%" are "agreeable" with company's direction. Could be they are pressured to do the survey but not confident that these responses are anonymous. To play it safe, they answered in a manner that they will NOT have to look over their shoulder at every shift for fear of retaliation. In other words, many lied in Whole Foods' favor our of fear.

Oh yes - I agree that our hours should be cut and be so short-staffed that we practically have seizures and pass out during our shifts. Oh what joy! I am so in agreement with this direction that company is taking! I enjoy how toxic our work environment is and how proactive our leadership is. I love being blamed for their mistakes and have all this work dumped on me to be done in less hours than normal. I feel so fortunate that I am stuck doing all the work while leadership paces around the floor before heading back to sit in the back office.

Yes - I will take the survey by logging into my account knowing that my responses can be tracked back to my account and/or IP address!

The less responses the better, we have no say in what the company chooses to do. It is a choice to not treat TMs well the money keeps rolling in for the company but they don’t want to give us more. Don’t buy into the fantasy that any up top cares about you or your co workers. If you choose to respond just respond with the word Union for every answer.

Global doesn’t care about the actual responses. Purely to see if the people at store level think the things they say are even considered. If you think you have a say global knows you are gullible enough to have some faith in the decisions they make. Not responding means you are disgruntled and not buying into BS they claim that prior responses have lead to. Global does not appreciate you or all the money the stores generate for the bloated upper management of this company.

Is the response rate connected to STL bonus in any way?
