Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Why not quit?

You know that you're going to get fired. You know that you'll never move up in the company. Your procedures are changing to make you stressed. You don't get paid that much. There are much better jobs out there.

Just quit.

I have relatives, friends, and Wells Fargo co-workers that follow this layoff page. They all say "Really?" Is that really the CEO that posted this invite for workers to quit? They say that can't be a good reflection on our CEO from the inside looking in or outside looking in. They say the quit thing works both ways. I'm in my 50's, and the CEO is 59. He makes so much money, he could retire 6 years early. Retire Man, go cruising on your millions while planet earth still has an Atlantic ocean.

I'd rather go swimming with the sharks than to quit my job. Sorry Charlie.

Yep, bleed the beast. Every dollar you squeeze out of this place before you collect severance is one less dollar Charlie can spend on "Rugged Male" escorts.

Also, sh-t on your laptop keyboard and slam the lid on it before packing it in the return MDT box. It's the right thing to do.

This is a HR post. First of all, we are not getting "fired". We are getting "laid off". Big difference.
Many such as @ceh+1tTOjmmF are well-positioned in the company. They are paid a lot. They have done a lot for this company.
However, being positioned at Wells doesn't mean sh...t to other companies.

I recommend to anyone to consider the cost/benefits of "quietly quitting". While quietly quitting to upskill and prepare for life without Wells. Upskill means career counseling, picture yourself outside of Wells, learning and employing AI

You ever try finding a new job in your 50’s? Even within Wells Fargo the ageism is ridiculous.. outside of Wells Fargo it’s nearly impossible.

I'm in a non-core location and been here 23 years. I had GREAT comments on my year end eval last year but worst raise ever because my "salary is considerably higher than others with the same job title." Yeah, because I've been here 23 years and bring way more experience than that person that's been here for 5 years!" I'm not going anywhere, they will pay me 23/24 years worth of severance.

If you are in an area impacted by location strategy, it’s a no brainer to stick around due to severance. Especially if you’ve been with the company many years.

If you are just hating work but in a core location, I agree with you.
