Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

This didn't take long... INTC below $19

Great quote from this article: "Intel stock is a litmus test for anyone who calls themselves a contrarian investor "

Intel at 19 has a forward PE ratio of 26.
Not cheap.

Negative cash flow - so bad that we had to layoff 15%
Trading below book value, but book includes huge amounts of goodwill that is rapidly deteriorating.

Rumors of poor 18A progress.
AMD curb stomping Intel. They will report higher data center revenue than Intel for the first time next quarter.
OEMs entertaining ARM as they desperately need another CPU source should Intel fail.
50B in debt that was just downgraded by all the credit agencies.

How can Pat execute his plan if he can’t retain or pay the fot talent.
Things are going in a very negative feedback spiral.

From the article

Everything awful thing that could happen, already did.

You sure about that? Lol

Not a fan of Intel but If the foundry bet works out and we can build, that will turn the ship around. But by the time that happens the world may be in a different direction. We'll be supporting tech that is always 5 years behind

The share price will continue to fall until morale improves.

If the bet on foundry doesn’t pan out that massive debt will be the end of Intel. It will be in chapter 11, broken up, and sold off in pieces to pay off the liabilities. The competition from AMD, QCOM, Nvidia, TSMC, and even Apple is only going to increase. In a capital intensive business once your are starved for cash it’s a downward spiral. INTC at $19 is not a bargain when there is a strong chance that the company won’t even exist.

I was there. The Year 2002, sub $10.
The scars never truly healed.

The stock price will continue to drop, as INTC loses market share to AMD, in the rear-view mirror indeed!
