Anyone have insight information on if the district 3 southeast union is getting ready to strike? The last update #35 sounded like they weren't too far from it.

Union folks have it good. Much better than the rest of us, that’s for sure. Different healthcare plan, OT pay, different retirement, much different layoff/severance. Way better than everyone else on this board. I’m not mad at ya, wish we would collectively do the same for the office folks. I think at this point the field makes more than most “managers.”

You could have all of that as well! As one poster said: the pendulum has swung too far one way for 20 years, time to get some of these record breaking profits back in the hands of the worker! Why everyone out there is not trying to form a union right now is beyond me?!?!?! Guess all those fancy degrees and higher education taught you how to be the exemplary servant you are to the c-suite....good luck stuck in middle management the rest of your career wondering when that c-suite bump is coming, yet never appearing, as you discover your true value in this game!

While you D3 union terds are busy posturing about what you deserve in 2024, how about you post specific details here about your allotted PTO (all of it), pay details for various job titles, benefits and work protections from surplus.

Im sure the general public would love to know exactly what you are so upset about out there on the picket line if you do happen to go on strike.

You shouldn’t have any problem convincing people how bad it is when you tell them how much you make annually (with no overtime, just your normal hourly rate) and how many PTO days you have including paid illness days.

A strike is leverage to get the company to bargain in good faith after an impasse. It doesn’t matter if it takes just one or x-x amount days to achieve that goal. Several members of congress have already sent a signed, labor support letter to the CEO, the pressure only goes up from there. Next, I’m sure the news, the public and govt. agencies will be made aware and other strategies will be implemented. In recent Gallop polling, U.S. approval of labor unions is at its highest point since 1965, its 71% as of 2022. They see how the pendulum has swung too far one way, in favor of c-suites and wall st.

The union is negotiating for a fair contract, asking for the following; a wage increase and COLA to partially offset high inflation. To keep all previous benefits and maintain or lower employee healthcare cost. Tweak some work rules for all, keep division of labor and other minor improvements. Partnering to slow the high attrition rate for Wire Techs by placing them in the Core contract, giving them a larger than normal wage increase and improving their work rules. It’s all within reason and shouldn’t have taken this long to negotiate terms that are acceptable for each side. There appears to be other factors at play.

Contract is expired and the vote was overwhelming to strike so, bring it on, let’s not wait two weeks like 2019. No need to drag it out 4 months like D9, strike already. Obviously, the company wants us to strike and the contingency team is all trained up, ready to go. Hate to disappoint them.

Was notified by our rep today, the district said, to stay ready for a strike! Based on last time, it’s happening soon. For the company sycophants who are worried about labor missing some pay, WE DON’T CARE!! Two months prior to contract expiration is more than enough time to bargain in good faith and sign a TA. Now they are at an impasse so, time to file an unfair labor practice and walk.

There is supposedly a TA for D9 but it’s going on five days since the announcement and nobody has seen it except, the “international executive board”, who approved it. Vote no D9 and strike with D3, I’ve heard some of your main issues weren’t addressed.

District 9 did not strike so district 3 most likely will do the same. Att has already decided what they are going to give. CWA is the little lady begging for more while the man AT&T doesn’t care if she stays or goes. AT&T has their customers in contracts with large termination fees. They could care less if a strike stops service since they have to take it no matter what.

I would think the union since it is a large union has some strike pay. I get the majority would rather not strike since they would lose part of their income. I'm just wondering if anyone is union side and has some inside information on if they are planning on striking.
