Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

JP Morgan giving 60K employees an AI assistant -- when will Wells do this? Are you being left behind?

I heard tech was affected and that this was given to TK to do.

On the last post the tinyurl didn't go thru. Here is the correct url https://snip.ink/RSrmS68G to "Tech workers who adopt a “wait and see” approach to AI will be left behind in the jobs race".

@1oib+1tVYc8Cb OP here... Wow. So the Wells Fargo US worker does not have access to AI. And the AI decision is going to the I&P management. So compared to JPM you are being left behind.

I used to think AI was yet another "next big thing". It was like "going to the internet", going to the cloud, becoming agile, using Six Sigma, etc. I was wrong -- AI is not another "silver bullet".

Over (81%) of office workers who have adopted AI tools to automate certain tasks have experienced increased productivity. Tech workers who adopt a “wait and see” approach to AI will be left behind in the jobs race. https://example.com/wflayoff

According to https://grow.google/ai-essentials/ google, there is a 21 times increase in job postings mentioning AI technologies.
I am making a point here: I hope you are not left behind. If you are still an employee get some training outside of Wells or somehow get it inside. It is still easy to catch up. If you are outside get some training. Open an account on chatgpt or gemini.google Ask AI how to get trained in AI. If you are looking for a job -- your AI skills may soon be tested for employment https://vervoe.com/ai-assessment-tools/.

Only a small percentage of us have AI. Those currently using are giving feedback on effectiveness. Mostly engineers, mostly offshore, very few who've been impacted by loss of team members in their LOBs. Buckle up butter cup! Tech will be affected if you're not upskilling on AI and/or Cloud fundamentals.

Guys AI is coming at you whether you like it or not. For those too lazy to read the article I have had Gemini do it for you and come up with a set of requirements for the TK/Bridget team. All of you facilitators out there (overpaid as managers) can ignore this at your peril. Eventually, all those under 65 will need to be trained in utilizing this technology.

Analysis of JPMorgan Chase's AI Initiative
JPMorgan Chase's announcement of its AI assistant, LLM Suite, is a significant milestone in the banking industry's adoption of generative AI. Key takeaways from the announcement include:

Data Protection: JPMorgan initially restricted ChatGPT use due to data privacy concerns. This highlights the critical importance of data security in AI implementation.
Model Agnosticism: The bank aims to be flexible in its AI model choice, emphasizing the need for a platform that can accommodate various models.
Focus on Productivity: LLM Suite is designed to enhance employee productivity by automating mundane tasks and enabling focus on higher-value work.
Cautious Approach to Customer-Facing AI: JPMorgan is adopting a cautious approach to using generative AI in direct customer interactions due to the potential risks of misinformation.
Talent and Training: The success of AI implementation relies heavily on employee training and the ability to effectively utilize the technology.
Proposed Requirements for Your Bank's AI Initiative
Based on the JPMorgan announcement and the broader AI landscape, here are proposed requirements for your bank's AI initiative:

Core Requirements
Data Privacy and Security:
Implement robust data protection measures to safeguard sensitive customer information.
Conduct thorough data privacy impact assessments before deploying AI systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Model Selection and Management:
Develop a framework for evaluating and selecting AI models based on performance, cost, and security.
Establish a process for monitoring and updating AI models to maintain accuracy and relevance.
Employee Training and Adoption:
Provide comprehensive training programs to equip employees with AI skills and knowledge.
Create a supportive environment that encourages experimentation and innovation.
Ethical Considerations:
Develop guidelines for responsible AI use, including bias mitigation and fairness.
Conduct regular ethical assessments of AI systems.
Additional Requirements
AI-Specific Infrastructure:
Invest in the necessary hardware and software infrastructure to support AI workloads.
Ensure compatibility with different AI frameworks and platforms.
Use Case Identification:
Prioritize AI use cases based on potential business impact and feasibility.
Conduct thorough feasibility studies and pilot projects before full-scale deployment.
Performance Measurement:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of AI initiatives.
Track ROI and identify opportunities for improvement.
Risk Management:
Develop a risk management framework to address potential challenges and risks associated with AI.
Implement contingency plans for AI system failures.
Long-Term Vision
AI Strategy:
Develop a long-term AI strategy aligned with the bank's overall business objectives.
Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.
AI Talent:
Invest in attracting and retaining AI talent.
Build internal AI expertise through training and development.
By following these requirements, your bank can successfully implement AI while mitigating risks and maximizing benefits. It is essential to continuously evaluate and adapt the AI strategy based on emerging technologies and industry best practices.

chatgpt> What good it AI?

AI is a useful tool to push a extreme left wing (aka communist) narrative as fact and have unquestioning lemmings accept it.

@xkh+1tVYc8Cb your job might get easier. With further automation, it may get lost.

"end of day it is about working smarter not harder and will give people a lot more time to focus on important tasks."

That is farther away than the people selling you their AI software will admit. I've seen many people use AI to make their lives easier and all they do is end up sounding like they rely on AI to do their thinking for them (which, presently, it isn't very good at).

My job should have been replaced by AI a few years ago based on AI marketing promises. Except I'm now needed more than ever, particularly after the latest round of cuts made based on an overseas-produced slide that completely BS'ed one of our senior managers about our primary software tool's capability.

Maybe an AI could have figured out that the overseas manager would tell the upper-level manager anything they wanted to hear.

That same artificial intelligence is going to track you, find flaws in your work, then use bureaucracy to remove you.

Look up WADU by JPM.
Tracker tool to micromanage.

Ai like chat gptnis great. if you are a programmer it can cut down the amount of time it takes you to code exponentially. you can take a teams transcript, copy it in, and have it summarize. You can write a first draft of a memo and then have ai clean it up. end of day it is about working smarter not harder and will give people a lot more time to focus on important tasks.

"An AI assistant would be great if my job involved looking for answers rather than applying my vast job-specific knowledge to get real work done."

If they do it right, which they probably won't, your vast job-specific knowledge will be used to train it and your job will get easier. Those who need answers will also get easier.

An AI assistant would be great if my job involved looking for answers rather than applying my vast job-specific knowledge to get real work done.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of AI helping people to do their jobs. I've worked with people who couldn't do their daily job duties alone. Many were paid more than me even though they came to me for answers. If our executive ranks weren't filled with those types of people they'd understand some of us can function without our hands being constantly held.

As usual, Wells Fargo Tech is su-king hind t-t compared to other Banks.

Don't worry folks, TK will be focusing her social media, I mean 'her time', on this pressing problem and will save us all.
