Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

So, what was the sequence this week? Intel first, Dell second, we are going third

Thousands and thousands of job losts at legacy tech. It's sad to see this play out but there is a ton of growth in other areas. I just hope things stabilize soon.

@vpu+1tVvUcHm, I worked for Intel Microprocessor Division before and received Division Award from Andy Grove. It is true that now Intel is a third rate company just like Cisco. Intel's chip design has never been the best but its fab and production were formidable until liars like Murthy Renduchintala and alike were put in charge. Murthy is gone but the damage is already done and beyond repair.

The CEO is getting a nice bonus for the $28B spent to acquire Splunk. Splunk has some integrated AI projects in the works with their SIEM solutions. There's your Cisco innovation.

In layoff, we will be the last and lazy one's. The credibility gone for a toss.

i dont know much about cisco and overall but it certainly used to be a big deal in tech especially in the 90s and early 2000s, but now they’re kinda stuck... ciscos revenue isn’t growing much, and their stock is down even though we’re in a tech bo-m... they’ve made tons of acquisitions over the yearss but this hasn’t really helped them grow. people are saying cisco needs to fix a lot of things (as always) like their messy product lines and complicated licenses which customers are complaining about a lot... they’re also losing market share to competitors (hello arista networks).

so now cisco needs a new vision and people doubt execs can deliver this and cisco should stop being so focused on just paying dividends and buying back stock which just makes execs rich...

also, they’re trying to get into ai, but it feels like they’re just jumping on the bandwagon instead of leading the charge. everyone should be ai as it's cool - right...

maybe cisco’s got potential, but they need to make some big changes to get back on top. right now it seems to me like they’re more concerned with looking good than actually innovating, and that’s not gonna cut it in the long run

Legacy tech?
LOL
Intel lost money on manufacturing side not on prod side and none of their prod are legacy by any stretch of imagination. They still hole 70%+ margins in CPU chips out there :)
