ULP = “Unfair Labor Practice”
What a joke, it shouldn’t have to come to this every contract. Had a 5 year contract and 2 months to bargain before the contract expired, now working 2nd week without a contract. Leadership continues to thumb their nose at employees by not bargaining in good faith, so much for valued employees and you matter. How quickly they forget all the frontline technicians that put their and their families lives on the line by continuing to work during the pandemic. Everything was unknown at the time, people were dying by the thousands but technicians showed up and worked, when it counted.
The Union isn’t asking for unreasonable wage increases or work rule improvements. Everyone lost a lot due to inflation, too many layoffs, attrition that has caused work/life balance and wage issues, for most workers. The metrics have been we-ponized for layoffs and harassment so, managers can make an ever increasing number for a bonus. They need green on their dashboard but the numbers continually change yearly without being properly measured, creates a toxic environment and a safety issue for outside techs.
