Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wave2 layoffs for Tech under Head of IT August 20th...

WAVE2 for Tech is August 20th...

These will be no notice layoffs. That is, you will show up to work, a meeting invite will show up on your calendar at some point, you will join the meeting and will be told that it is your last day. Access will be cut by COB that day.

Your 60 day non-working notice starts that day. At the end of your 60 day non working notice you lose your medical benefits (qualifying event). Then you will receive your lump sum PTO and your severance will kick in.

Severance pays out like a normal paycheck. Anyone here 4 years or less gets 8 weeks, otherwise it is 2 weeks for every year of employment.

Not sure what other states are like but I got a year of severance, they also encouraged me to take unemployment, which I did and most of my normal benefits, which will end Oct 1st. The people that I dealt with at both my state unemployment office and my local job service all were amazed at everything I received. This is what was given to me, I am sure it’s not a standard package.

Does anyone know how to access the healthcare dollar benefits card information once you cannot get to the information on workday? They totally lock you out of those links that you are so used to having on your work desktop. I need to see how much more I have left to use for prescriptions. SMH

You don’t lose your benefits during your severance period, I know, I am on severance.

We shall see. After averaging roughly 1000 employees per month last year, Shart has bumped it up to 1300/mo this year. So far COO has lost the most people, with tech coming in second. Good luck everyone.

Correct, "As long as you don't take the lump sum"...

The August 20 date is no b.s.

@OP, you realize that everyone on here has access to the benefit book that covers severance, right? And can easily know you're making this up. As long as you don't take the lump sum, you get the option to have benefits through out your severance period.

sigh

this is baloney/bullsh_t. Your benefits continue until severance is complete, unless you are a fool and take the lump sum.

how do I know? Experience.

I milked the severance for the full 12 months and got my bennies like clockwork.

Cheers!

Except you do NOT lose your benefits after the 60 day non-working period. Those continue thru the end of the month that your severance package ends. You will continue to receive salary checks on the regular schedule thru the 60 day period. When that ends, it takes one extra week before you start to receive your severance checks - so the first severance check comes 3 weeks after your last regular check that you get at the end of your 60 day period. After that, severance checks continue to come every 2 weeks.

Do you get paid during the 60 day non working notice? When you get laid off do your checks stop until the severance kicks in?
