Hi I wanted to leave on September not December, and from what I heard from this forum, HR and senior leadership will decide the dates.
Is it better to reach out to HRBP that I am interested to leave early, does that make sense?

if you really really want to leave on Sept, you can quit anytime
OP+1tYGgxAE, I don’t know if they will grant you what you want. I don’t know what your plans are , but I think it would be better to leave in December. 1) you will accrue vacation days for September and October, 2) you will have 3 or 4 months of 401k and matching contributions 3) if the date is the last week if December, you will receive your money in 2025 and it won’t be included in your 2024 income taxes with you other 9 months of income.
It stated in the original communication - Dont volunteer unless you are willing to stay thru March. They decide. Not us.
Dates are already determined based on the needs of the business. You get what you get. The FAQ clearly stated you needed to be prepared to stay through the end of March if you volunteer.
