Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Purple Contract

Word is that all non-management will eventually be moved to the Purple Contract. Management will also be moved to Mobillity, this includes 2nd and 1st line Managers. ATT can't afford to keep growing our pensions and salaries.

A contract is an agreement between both sides. T agreed, backing out is cheating. T says employees are disloyal; they need a mirror. And, I am a level 1 manager. Regardless of my likes, keep your word.

The Machiavellian C suite $ fritter kings aren’t truly worth a hill of beans. This “cutting of dead weight” needs to start at the tip top of the pile!

When Stinkey and BOD decides to eliminate the former CEO Randall’s 1 mil. consulting contract then, I might start being concerned. We can’t even get TP or soap half the time nor order any supplies without a directors approval but the execs continue to spend, get raises and bonuses like everything is ok. I’m not concerned in the least since they aren’t, actions speak louder than words.

Troll,

They aren’t worried about salaries or pensions because they can terminate managers or rebadge them at will since, they don’t have a contract. Only craft and c-suite have signed contracts with work rules, benefits and exit options. Middle & lower managers are just human capital with changing benefits, policies, no standard work rules so, they are used like contractors then, thrown out when not needed. They did away with rule of 75 for most mangers and those that are close, they have a layoff just before they make it.

Don’t believe it, just think of all the changes for middle to lower managers over the last 5 years. Who would want to work with those kind of circumstances? professional or not, you are just human peanut butter to be spread around at the will of Stink and company. Can you say RTO or relocation as case in point. How about lost medical, PTO, diminishing pensions, massive layoffs, from months to 2 weeks off payroll, budget constraints, just to name a few changes. Yet the executive are still getting large raises, bonuses, stocks, renovating offices, flying corporate jets with corporate pilots and being driven by company drivers, company chefs and paid lodging to all kinds of sporting events and expensive retreats.

No spots in Mobility for a bunch more managers, especially those that don’t know anything about Mobility.
