Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The Controlled Demolition of Wells Fargo

The sociopathic junta that runs this company is gutting it with layoff upon layoff with an absolute disregard for the long-term. Why? They have lavished themselves with stock based compensation and now mean to raise the stock price in the short to medium term by any means necessary. Rather than do the hard work of building value through compelling products and services, they have chosen the easy route to please Wall Street: firing up the chainsaw cutting employees heads off. Only skill required is being a psychopath.

The trick is to get the stock price up and cash out before the metaphorical building collapses. If they time it right, they will ride off into the sunset with tens of millions of dollars, and appoint minorities as their successors to take the blame for the inevitable fall.

The average Wells Fargo employee is just a pawn, a su---r in all of this. Endlessly lied to and manipulated by managers managing managers managing managers managing managers. RTO is a scam. DEI is a scam. Offshoring is a scam. Employee Appreciation was an attempt to poison the employee population to weaken its will. The endless layoffs that happen in the shadows that are top of mind for the rank and file but are barely mentioned by our gaslighting senior management. Its psychological warfare being waged by these monsters at the top of the organization pyramid. You, the ordinary Wells Fargo employee cowering in your cubicle, are the enemy.

Hudson Yards is literally spending every single penny of profits we earn to buy back shares so their own comp will be worth a little bit more.

Ironically, if the bank suddenly changed its ways, I would feel punished by not given an opportunity to be laid off.

There is way too much that needs to be overhauled to make this company truly a great employer. Many of us carry the burden of years of extending too many olive branches, meager pay raises, zero promotions.

No patience to see this bank turn the corner. There is no time left.

Between 30 million in compensation for Charlie and the egregious stock buybacks to artificially inflate their value, the fleecing of Wells Fargo is on full display. How institutional thievery like this isn’t considered budgetary misappropriation and wage theft from the rank and file is beyond me. The American oligarchy is on full display on the stagecoach.

@yns+1tcpntnE posted this in another thread but seems to fit better here.

I threw my severance away and rescued my mental health in the process. It was worth it to me and my family. I come back here from time to time because I am concerned that my former peers don’t realize how horrible and disgusting the escalating abuses have become. It’s much easier to see how bad it truly is once you are able to escape. My best to you all.
