Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

LevelBlue Layoffs

My whole team is gone in a flash. What are the extent of the cuts? ATT severance to be paid out, most off payroll in 2 weeks.

Huge factor is LB is liable to pay a million or so monthly to AT&T for their services. LB is doomed for failure.

I was told that I was one of the lucky 57 laid off of the 72. 20yrs got a severance and a pension out of it. They put us all in difficult spot, once the merger was announced, everyone was blocked from moving to a different position at AT&T. We were told that they needed the staff for the new venture so we were stuck.
Looking at the talent that was given notice, and the size of the reductions in sales, marketing, and operations I don't see how they make this work. We stretched thin before the layoff; I have to think they ran into money problems.

Half of all Levelblue, former AT&T Cybersecurity, got fired this Tuesday, with severance packages. Top to bottom hit. Sales wiped out. Product dev hit hard, plus op's. They made it just 2 full months after spinoff. The India jobs posted are for internal AT&T cybersecurity, not external services. Internal is the same guys who let 72 million customers data get stolen. Different group than Levelblue. But that name baggage heavy on levelblue head now, and it's tainted badly. The India hires are to actually put cybersecurity into the AT&T networks, prior to user access. But 72 million cows are already out of the barn. So good luck, Indians.

Biggest problem next to loosing SMEs and high performing members?
Lack of communication to us, who stay. No plan, no email, call nothing.
Second biggest problem? They kept mo--ns and those who didn't do anything so far.

My recommendation to all is to spend most of your time looking for another job and never resign. Keep collecting a pay check for as long as you can, even if you start somewhere else.

We did everything we could before, because several of us had hope. Then they let go of our best resources. People that put everything they had into seeing this through. People that motivated, inspired and held the right folks accountable. Now we're left with nothing. There is no light at the end of this tunnel.

The ship is sinking. But will be rescued when Bob combines us with one of his other failed ventures. He bought this place while circus for pennies on the dollar, so don’t worry, he will come out of this happy. I promise you.

**Total amount I take between 401k, pension, and a six figure buy out (thank you id--t management!!) is approximately $2 million for 23+ years of service. Last 10 years I made over $2 million in salary + sales commission.
All good :)**

Anyone bragging about how much money they have, on the internet, is 100% a coping broke a$$ l0ser. It's a fact. Research done on this and everything. :D Nice try, though.

Bad move with all these cuts...signs of financial desperation....you can't keep telling people "do more with less, you are fortunate to have a job"...as someone else posted...who is better off, the people laid off or the ones staying.....Where is the leadership, the strategy, the path forward????

You could have had a monkey or ChatGPT do these cuts....

I don't know who really won today? Was it the people set free of this misery or was it the people still left in purgatory?

Unfortunately at a Director level, Cybersecurity Consulting is inept. Last September, they laid off 11/43 consultants. I fully expect LevelBlue to go into the DeepBlue within a year.

MidMarket went from 5 teams down to 1 team. Those “lucky” enough to keep a job are on very little borrowed time. The org is purposely dropping new sales as a priority. This means those left are forced to catch falling knives and measured on retaining revenue. This is an impossible task after what took place today. The entire renewal team was canned. So now completely incapable engineers who have never touched a real technical environment and hardly talked to customers will be forced to take over relationships. No chance. That’s not how any of this works. Once customer find out their person was canned, it’s curtains. The cyber sales engineers from the collapsed edge teams which nobody wanted to begin with, no real engineering, negative points in charisma and work ethic, and no real cyber experience. It’s ballgame folks. The leadership team completely got played or knew the whole time.

No way they can continue to run the business. This was a blind, shortsighted, last ditch effort to make the buyer happier with the financials.

Leadership isn’t even trying to motivate and inspire the people who are left. Couldn’t even be bothered with an email.

May the odds ever be in your favor. But I think anyone not lucky enough for a severance should be hoping they can get a nice signing bonus when they land a new role somewhere better.

Oh, and sales will come to a grinding halt. More than 100 of them were let go, something like 80%.

Once said he layed off 1000 people - felt bad but said it was the right thing to do…

Mass layoff of employees today in levelblue. About 40% of contractors also let go last week. Now running at about 1/2 the staff as just 1 week ago. A few executives know the list of who's left. Survivors now forced to stumble into that info, issue by issue now.
