Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Bye bye HC10

LinkedIn post:

“ Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to visit our newest Technology Center in Dayawan, China. Our team will be moving into the building in a few weeks and our first pilot unit is scheduled for startup later this year. Exciting to meet our new team of operators and technicians, many of whom just returned from training in Baytown, TX. Looking forward to starting our research and product development work very soon!”

@1thb+1tdINm4b, same here. I have fired both XOM and it's products for a long while now. Only doing work commensurate to the respect and salary I get from XOM.

Sure, let's just sit around and hope for the angry little gremlin named Trump to take office. That angry little gremlin is only looking to line his own pockets.

It only makes sense. As much as we hate it, we have to acknowledge that the Chinese work harder, smarter and complains a lot less. All these for a fraction of the pay package.

Eventually when trump comes onboard, it is a matter of time where we have to suddenly cut communications with them (just like Russia sites) and we will be back to square one!

Hold tight! Sit tight! Wait it out! Our worth will new back!

Sc-mbags who don’t care about our country and just their pockets. Goodbye technology to the Chinese…

And yet some on this board still push back on the suggestion there are plans for closing the Houston campus. It will happen. HC10 footprint will be minimized to just field offices with field people. All engineering, planning, you name it will be done remote outside of HC10.

OP, DW's been planning this for years. Exxon's moved all research, development, engineering, finance, etc to Asia. The work we did in Clinton was moved to Singapore and Bengarulu. Now that they're running DW shut us down screuuing up the lives of hundreds of employees and dumping a lot of brown on the loyalty and dedication of the employees. He really screuued our lives. Everything's in disarray. Complete chaos. Add Sarnia, Calgary and I've just heard from my colleagues in Texas that the Baytown East building will be demolished. There won't be any engineering, product development done in the USA in a couple of years. The corporation has been hollowed out. There's nothing left. We'll see how long Exxon exists without any brains.

Now we know why it took so long to close the US sites. Had to finish building and staffing the replacement locations outside of the HC10 locations.

LinkedIn posts like that demonstrate the total disrespect the company now has for it's heritage employees. Just leave please, we only care for low cost and have no value for experience, expertise, loyalty.

Works for me, I'll treat you EM with the same disrespect.

The rigged ranking system and annual layoff PIP will be used to systematically reduce HC10 headcount.

Already at least one ranking session said that BTC employees must be deliberately and falsely elevated in the ranking. The poor performing BTC engineer will always be placed above the HC10 engineer that corrects the poor BTC work products.

This will continue until BTC engineers, unchecked due to lack of HC10 engineers, cause a Valdez level event.

Reducing HC10 staff + impending rampant IP theft = priceless.
So. Much. Winning!

Close US sites.
Open new tech centers in Asia
Offer training to new staff
Yet deny training and opportunities to existing employees.
Rank high cost, experienced employees low to force retirement.
Who profits?
