So the company just announced job cuts in Levelblue (cybersecurity) this week.

And today there are 12 cybersecurity jobs open in India on Workday.

It's important to remember timing. AT&T finally disclosed the widespread data security breach in April after a long delay. LevelBlue became more aware of T's lack of capabilities and skill. The deal was almost called off because of this.

And just two months on the heels of VP of Cybersecurity, Sundhar Annamalai's, town hall in which he virtually begged people not to seek jobs elsewhere, saying they (LevelBlue) were going to take ALL of us with them and that they needed EVERY ONE of us to make the new company work. So either he was in the dark about what leadership above him was planning, in which case he probably feels like a giant schmuck right about now, or he knew and simply lied to all of us to prevent a mass exodus before they could finalize details of who they wanted to surplus. I have 18 years with AT&T, superior performance reviews, and more rewards and recognition along the way than I can count. It made no difference.

Well; sadly, you’re a very, very uniformed person. LevelBlue had nothing to with causing that breach. AT&T CSO should have called LevelBlue’s IR hotline, they are amazing. Oh wait, no, can’t do that now. Consulting cut the head of the IR team this week. Good luck with that.

Those impacted should be thankful they got severance after details concerning the scale of the data breach were released. Many should have been walked out the door.

They made it just 2 full months after spinoff. The India jobs posted are for internal AT&T cybersecurity, not external services. Internal is the same guys who let 72 million customers data get stolen. Different group than Levelblue. But that name baggage heavy on levelblue head now, and it's tainted badly. The India hires are to actually put cybersecurity into the AT&T networks, prior to user access. But 72 million cows are already out of the barn. So good luck, Indians.

lol yep. Look at workday to see what offices will remain open. Dallas is quite busy. NJ too. There’s a hub office that barely posts jobs which matches why I’ve heard about it possibly closing after the waves have completed

Expect that with other units as well. Company is shifting jobs to India. Don’t assume that if you are in the hub or agreed ro move there with RTO mandate then you are safe. Most of those who agreed to move to the hub are overpaid managers w/o skills. This is a food for thought.

This isn’t surprising. Most legacy T employees part of cyber don’t have industry skills or experience when they moved to the org. They are extremely overpaid for their given skillset. Outsourcing these positions makes sense.
