RTO for those taking VSP?

Anyone know if they plan to enforce the 8 days a month rule for those taking the VSP? I'd expect them to track conformance at some point, but are those who clicked the button at risk between know and Sept 13?

FAQs distributed to B5 and above managers stated plainly, (document was shown to me by my manager), they aren’t monitoring badge swipes. Plus, too many teams’ managers/Directors/VPs are telling individual members not to worry about the RTO. This is true regardless of VSP.

Splitting up the VSP payment into RTO visits it is about $7,000 or so each office visit for me so I’m just going to go in. They probably won’t enforce anything on RTO but no real leadership has said VSPers don’t need to go in only that everyone who is hybrid must go in.

Directors? Whether you mean Band 5 of the newly title inflated Band 6s they don’t make decisions like this. If you think they have any real input you are way too far into the kool aid today or have never worked at any corporation least of all Verizon. My band 6 director said they don’t know and after they asked their leadership and peers no one knew for sure but felt it probably doesn’t matter. At least they were honest about it.

Book your space app... please. It's pathetic and rarely if ever honored. None of these things are hard and fast requirements to use. They can't use them as 'we-pons' to assess that you have not been in the office and compliant with RTO. Plus, a lot of Directors are telling their people that it's not going to be enforced. That will stand on some legal ground as well.

Verizon isn't going to use something pathetic like that to remove the VSP from you - they would be opening themselves up to way too much legal trouble.

And you say I am using VPN in the office - makes me think you are not a real employee as you don't know how things work. And IP address tracking - ha - that's funny. Security cameras... oh yeah, someone is going to spend their time looking at that.

Quit fear mongering - VSP is VSP - you take it and you are out. They are not going to look to sc--w over everyone that tries to take it.

For the Basking Ridge campus, you can enter the gate before 9 and just show your car decal. Or if you are carpooling, it's not your badge anyway. No badge swipe. For the garage entry, someone can easily let you in. No badge swipe. Brought your lunch? No need to walk to building 4 so no badge swipe. Or if you do, someone held the door for you - happens a lot. Leaving work - no badge swipe.

Obviously you can and probably do go the day without swiping your badge anyway. It's not a reliable and accurate way of assessing if someone was truly in the office or not. Someone can easily make any of these arguments if asked.

I would not worry about it.

I dare you not to do the 8x plus per month and have pressed the VSP button. If there is a reason not to pay you yet let you go it will happen.

Wondering how RTO would be tracked. Obviously there's the badge swipe, but are they really going to check at the IP address level to know how long someone worked at a particular location?

I was officially home based for years - no office nearby - but during the pandemic was switched to hybrid and told not to worry about going in. It would be a huge hit to my productivity to have to sit alone in a faraway office 8x/mo.

Clicked VSP day one minute one. I care about anything that may disqualify me. Sure maybe going in a couple days a week is pointless but it is one less thing to worry about. I’d rather find out it was unnecessary come 9/14 after I’m gone instead of finding out before that it mattered.

They track performance? When I got RIF’d in 2022 they told me 3 months before my last day. Trust me my work performance got less and less daily

It isn’t in the FAQ one way or the other at least it wasn’t there originally or when I checked recently.

My manager told me not to bother going in and while I might trust them I don’t trust HR or my senior leaders. So off I go in a couple dozen more times before I leave with or without the VSP. VSP is well worth the long trip to sit on webex meetings on my laptop screen and then head home and leave the real work to my WFH days with an actual workstation setup.

What a stupid A$$ post.

You are an employee, you follow the rules. You will NOT know you are accepted for VSP until at least Aug.

So stop with the stupid posts - and get back to work!!!

No reason not to?
Poorer equipment.
Everyone is on webex anyways.
There are alot of inconsiderate people who pump up their calls to full volume so everyone can hear they are on meetings.
Most people don't work with anyone else in their office.
At least I can put in my 8 hours and call it a day in the office. If VZ wants me to be unproductive I'm not working for free at home to make up for it so I guess there is that.

Everyone should RTO. There is no strong reason why not.

I’m not risking it. I am a bit concerned that that if they really wanted to sc--w me I didn’t go 8 times this month just 2x a week since it launched but I don’t think they’d go to that length.
